WHO IS TOMSMITH

Tommy Smith rode Jay Trump to victory in the 1965 Grand National. Three years later he won the Olympic 200 metres gold, and became mega famous to this day by bravely giving the black power salute on the podium during the anthem.

He then scored for Liverpool in the 1977 European Cup final against a German team which I can't spell.

What a man.

Poor old scouser Tommy Smith. The hard man and he ended up crippled out of the game. A few years back in the build up to a Cup Final Tommy went on and took a few penos for some fun/charity gig and subsequently had his DHSS benefits cut off! True story.

Sage, Jimmy Barry Murphy is the name you're looking for. Brian Murphy did the same. Brian Murphy has All-Ireland medals at minor under-21, senior and club in both hurling and football. He also has All-Stars in both hurling and football. Phenomenal or what ?

What warped mind came up with this? Foreign games, foreign players?

If you are per chance a racist, could you please keep it to yourself.

Lynn Publications should terminate this discussion immediately, as it clearly states that this message board is for Gaelic Games related issues only, not for talking or discussing English Soccer players or teams.
Anyone discussing GAA matters in the Man Utd or Liverpool news sheets, not likely.

hopefully some of our Kerry posters may be able to help me out with this one. One of my workmates up here has told me that the last non Catholic to captain an all Ireland winning team was Ambrose O'Donovan from Kerry. I personally think my workmate is talking rubbish , but maybe some of you know differently.
