This is actually a good final panel. But.. a lot of good players overlooked.. Lorcan Mcgrath?.. Ciaran Gallagher?.. Matthew Mc Caffery?

cookiemonster09 County: Tyrone Posts: 6 277883 Does anyone else think that the entire development setup is a complete disgrace Ciaran McBride is managing Carrickmore u-16s and all the Carrickmore representitives Are On It If it was fair there would be many players on it that dont get recognised because of where they are from e.g Mark McElhatton, Matty McCaffrey, Ciaran Gallagher You obviously are somebody from Newton. As for the Carrickmore players, 3 out of 8 made the team, i wouldnt call that biased plus all three that made it are worthy of their place. 1.Mark Mc Reynolds 2.Brendan Burns 3.Conor Mc Aleer 4.Declan Goodfellow 5.Ciaran Canavan 6.Cahir McCullagh 7.Sean Quinn 8.Niall Donaghy 9.Enda Mc Gahan 10.Darren McCurry 11.Matthew Heagney 12.Ryan Devlin 13.Daragh Fox 14.Ruairi Bradley 15.Niall Slevin 16.Conor Mc Elhatton 17.Phillip Barker 18.Patrick Devenney 19.Ryan Donaghy 20.Paul Owens 21.Ryan O'Keeffe 22.Colum Corrigan 23.Ben Mc Gillion 24.James Mc Neilis 25.Matthew Jones 26.Jonny Monroe

You cannot say that the picking process isnt biased, there were players goin to trials that didnt even get a game. Now thats hardly fair now is it. As for people being overlooked, Matthew McCaffrey is a 5th year who was a sub for the Omagh CBS Macrory team who were narrowly defeated in the final. Whenever he doesnt make the panel for tyrone U-16's but can make the coveted school team thats two years above his age what does this say about the picking process?

You think the picking system is unfair because you didnt mean the cut. Matthew McCaffrey isnt an outstanding player and probably would've made the team as a keeper. Ciaran Gallagher isnt close and the four remaining keepers are better. Anyway i would love to know exactly who didnt get a game at their trial because from what i seen everyone got at least a half in the earlier trials and got at least 40minutes in the final trial, please explain who didnt get playing because no one got a full game due to the large numbers but got enough time to perform.

Who is he better than and what has he ever did to prove this.

McGinn, McElhatton, McReynolds were all the Tyrone U15 keepers last year.
McKenna is an extremely good keeper and was Dromore minor keeper last year when he was U15. Dromore is a massive club compared to Newtown.
Gallagher couldnt get on his CBS Rannafast team and from what i know has never made the school team.

ciaran gallagher is an excellent keeper, in fact it was he wasnt given a chance at the second trial but he did impress on the first with his kickouts reaching as far against the wind as niall mcginn was with the wind. And also i think youll find that matthew mccaffrey was played as a sub midfielder towards the end of the macrory campaign.

an_Baile_Nua.. i dont know why you are writing on this saying that the picking process is biased. Everybody got a game in either the first, second or third trial. Yes i have heard Ciaran Gallagher is a good keeper but Declan Mc Kenna, Mc Elhatton and Mc Ginn deserve their place more. If the picking process was biased then how come only one of the newtownstewart boys got on? how many did newtown send? Its not biased, just players did not show on the day and managers cant go on word alone.

Anyway.. Any word on Training?

the selection process is very biased as some players only played for 10 and 20 minutes and made it, while others played for the whole trial didint!

at the second trial there was also a keeper trial. mckenna wasnt there and mcelhatton and mcginn were playin in the trial match. gallagher was found out. good kickout but cant dive and it takes him a good while gettin back up again. 4 keepers that are there are the best in the county. mcelhatton is solid. mcginn is a good shot stopper. mckenna and mcreynolds both playin for there minors at 15 and mcreynolds on academy rannafast team.

The reason for that is because the players that made it only played 20minutes in the trials was because the managers had clearly seen enough evidence whereas the players that played a full trial and didnt make it was because the managers gave them enough time to impress and they didnt take their chance, you can complain all you like because you or your friends didnt make it, simple as. Totally agree with NM_NM, enough talk about Gallagher, hes nothing special, average keeper compared to the selected four.
