I don't know where that story about Irwin marking Quinn in Croke Park came from. Didn't happen in 1983 anyway as Galway minors beat Cork, Dublin beat Antrim in semi final. Quinn only played minor that year so they would never have played other than that charity match a few years ago maybe???

If it was in the States it is highly likely. I moved to Manchester in 1976 and lost touch, but I know Tommy played in the good old US of A.

No less a man than Mick O Connell ..... don't think he actually played any game but trained with a team it was big news at the time.

John Hayes actually played with Cappamore a club in east limerick, not Bruff as previously mentioned.
Paul O'Connell played with South Liberties another east limerick club
