Come to think of it,Podge and Rodge would have done a better job.

Would rather watch paint dry than that again.

Anyone think that a lot of the contributors on the Late Late show looked and sounded a bit "tired and emotional" last Friday night?

So would i if i'd sat in the audience and listened to Brush Shileds.

Shefflin must have felt seriously hard done by - flying home from the KK holiday for that load of drivel.

If RTE want to do a programme on the GAA then the only person to host it would be Des Cahill.

I have to agree with most of the posters, i dont know why kevin moran was there or des cahill for that matter, these are soccer men could we not find enough of our own to fill the show, plenty of lads from louth would have been honoured to get invited maybe some of the 57 team. oh and yeah brush sheilds is a head wrecker i was at croke park that day and he got wet like the rest of us.

How are Kevin Moran and Des Cahill "soccer men"? Moran won AI with Dubs and Cahill, who has his faults, was chairman of Cuala and played junior hurling up to few years ago. Louth is probably only county where local LOI soccer teams are better supported than the county GAA sides come to that.

Far from it, altough we do hear that rumour a lot, drogheda is the bigest team and their support comes nowhere near that of louths in fact lately they have nobody going to their games. My point about moran was that he chose to leave dublin for man united which is his choice but surely then the lads who stayed with dublin and slogged it out over the years for nothing should be the ones who are being honoured and invited to the show, remember they werent set up for life they had to keep working after playing for dublin so an invite would show a little appreciation for what they gave to the GAA. Also i dont know if you regularly listen to rte radio one but if you do you will know that des is a soccer man he loves nothing better than to have the banter for a few minutes about who has the bragging rights in the premiership and then he'll quickly run through the GAA news, do you really believe des is going to be haeding to every league come feb. I doubt it he'll be in croker for the fireworks and that will be it.

I thought Des Cahill saved the show actually. Only for him it would have been a complete disaster (which it was pretty close to). He always does a great job on up for the final - should have been a saturday night show presented by him. PK didnt have a clue.

Beandonor the comment that sums it all up is:

"...But that's RTÉ and their patented "sure they're only boggers, what will they care?" syndrome for you..."

Reflected by the snotty nosed response e-mails that they sent to many.

Snuf and Jim,

Get over what!! Is a 125 year celebration not worth getting excited about??? And all parochialism aside, was the programme not poor?? No hurling, nobody outside Dub & Kerry mentioned etc

I think our anger is mainly at the GAA. PK is a plank so no surprise there.

But the event was to publicise the GAA in its 125 year so they should have taken control and are responsible for the mess!!

The LL show producers are at fault for the show not the GAA.... it's about bums on seats to these people...it's a ratings war...hence Bertie and Dunphy..
