Very poor program, looks like it was thrown together as an after-thought.

The only good part of that program was the interviews with the two legends themselves carney and Pendergast

The_Oracle, a couple of questions...

How did 'the widow' see them break the procession? Wouldnt she have been up at the front?
How did the mayo lads get wind of this? Did someone come onto the bus and tell them? This was 1951, no mobiles, did 'the widow' send a telegram? Similarly, how did everyone in mayo hear of it (while nobody in longford knew about it)?

Some people say it was the priest, some say it was the widow - therein lies the answer. People adding bits in to make a story. None of this happened. Did they even have a bus trip home in 1951? Wouldnt it have been more commonplace to get the train back west around that time?

It doesnt sound like it existed until they lost a couple of finals. The Mayo Management and panel are only on the go about 3 years so anything beyond that is completely irrelevant. The team playing on sunday should have zero focus on what Mayo panels of the past have/havent done. And just to clarify, Anthony Finnertys second shot wasnt cursed.

The surviving members of the 1951 team are all on life support machines (despite not needing them) in underground bunkers protected by 24hr armed security in a secret location in Connemara.

Seriously though lads, best of luck on Sunday.

Ah I see the usual tools in here are getting their knickers in a twist over this, yeh'd want to relax a bit, its only a few lads havin a bit of craic. If anything it takes the spotlight off the team, similar to Donegal arguing over the homecoming last year before the game was even played. Did it effect them? Did it hell. Some people say the whole country is laughing at us, we'll see who's laughing in The Mal in Castlebar next Monday night.
