Erm, well to be fair, there's a bit of a difference between how Tyrone and Mayo's year went. I don't get your post though. Nobody's made topics saying "what are Tyrone's failings?" Why would any county who won the all-ireland concentrate on that? I'm sure if Mayo had beaten us in the qualifier, which they could well have done, people would have wondered how Tyrone could improve. Surely it would be a bit arrogant of us to complain about how we need to improve after winning the bloody thing. I suppose we could launch a better defence of our title next year than we've done in the past. TheMaster (Mayo) - Posts: 16187 - 02/01/2009 13:16:47 172043 Link 0 |
"Now Kilkenny have won three (3) Leinster senior football titles. Tyrone have not won an Ulster hurling title, which some Tyrone people assure me is an easy trophy to win." MichaelO (Tyrone) - Posts: 820 - 02/01/2009 14:56:17 172077 Link 0 |

My post is to do with the oceans of tyrone posts I have read on here, but im at a loss for an objective view... Iv never read a tyrone post about dooher's dive in the final (where there was no contact at all), yet there are novels on o'mahoneys dive... lads most of the tripe going on on this thread is not even worth reading never mind responding too. But just to point out to Patrique that Tyrone have actually won an All Ireland Junior hurling title. I don't remember the year but Brendan Harkin was the manager. bocerty (Tyrone) - Posts: 539 - 02/01/2009 15:50:10 172096 Link 0 |
Excellent point Bocerty, I am positive Tyrone won an all Ireland Junior title but alas it is not on the county website. I know they lost the final to Meath in 1999, but I remember writing about them winning it. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 02/01/2009 16:43:31 172120 Link 0 |
Patrique - maybe they didnt win it - i was thinking 1998 or 2000 as I was under the impression they contested 2 consecutive finals losing the first one and winning the next one - but my facts could be wrong as Meath won it in 1998 and lost to Armagh in 2000. I was convinced Tyrone beat London in the final but I can see no record of it. bocerty (Tyrone) - Posts: 539 - 02/01/2009 17:30:07 172137 Link 0 |
tyrone won a special junior A1 in 1995 or 96 hipster (Dublin) - Posts: 2509 - 02/01/2009 17:41:22 172142 Link 0 |
They won the Ulster junior in 1995 and 96 I think. maybe it was a special all Ireland as Kilkenny had James Mcgarry and others playing junior in those days. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 02/01/2009 19:13:19 172202 Link 0 |
TheMaster, what's a berbatov and why would Tyrone want to buy one? Borderboy (Monaghan) - Posts: 277 - 02/01/2009 19:26:48 172207 Link 0 |
I am nearly sure we are talking 1996 but it does not help that the official Tyrone Website does not MENTION hurling. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 02/01/2009 21:20:51 172242 Link 0 |
Hurling not readily mentioned cos it is a minority sport. Something akin to rounders or bog snorkling. RichardCranium (Tyrone) - Posts: 262 - 03/01/2009 11:18:02 172328 Link 0 |
