Killenkere pulled out of the semi final against killygarry. Laragh bet inny gaels in the other semi so it should be a good final between laragh & killygarry. killygarry will probably shade it by 2 or 3 points. Would nt be so confident as sean og to say shannon gales will beat swanlinbar. I really think swad will cliam their first title on friday evening which would be a great achievement in their first year.

I do't know anything about ladies football in Cavan but I know a bit about it in general, the reason why these clubs do't send in their players into the county is silverware, plain and simple, weither it is a 9 aside league where your county players are not allowed to play in or the ordinary league or championsiop, what mine is mine and I am keeping it.
No one is looking at the overall picture, there is an offical rule if an player refuses to play for your county if asked, penelty are incured I am not quoting number but no Co Board wants to go down that road, singling out players, this is not the problem and at the end of the day it is the clubs who are at fault, bye laws can be introduced, where you have a strong team like Lurgen of example who have county standard players they can be named by the Co Board as not legiable to play in the competition.
This is will leave the competiton fairer on everyone else and it may also encourge the players to play county because they are gaining nothing by not playing , actually this year they lost out on a National league final title, they leagues could be timed better with the county, so there are no concflicts with fixtures and clubs, an impossible tasks I know.
The championship I persume will depend on the success of the county team, but in saying all that would have a lot higher chance if they had all these players on Board.

Kicker, I'm not sure if that's the only reason why players don't go in. I know many good lady footballers who have never been properly watched by the management, also they have been heard about, and players within the county have been asked to ask these players. Now in my opinion, I think that is wrong. The management should be asking these players. Your never going to get player to go into a set-up if your asked by a teammate. Oh here the county manager asked me to ask you would you come in and train with the county. Also, from what I see there are also lots of clicks within the county, including the management set-up. Anyway, that's only my views on it!

oneforthefuture- Sorry was not aware of that situation and that is wrong managment should approch all players regardless.
This is a subject for a county board exe to sort out managment seem to pick who they want and send messages to the REST..... is that what you are telling me.
Every player dream is to play for the county no matter what they say............

Kicker-from what I gather is that the management have their favourites. This year in my opinion Cavan had not got the best panel of players for one reason or another-and one of them being not asked in too the county. There are "trials", however I'm not sure whether the management of the club teams let them know. Overall, I don't think the players have a fair chance of being picked.

well if what you are saying to me is true ,first we will have to see what the end result will be for Cavan in the Championship with two games to go and 3pts on the board they could be luckly to stay in Intermediate, Clare and Tipperary are top in the group Roscommon are bottom at the moment so lets hope it stays that way, the bottom team plays to stay up , it could be time for new managment even after winning the division three league , and there is some step up to the divison two if there is no revamp.and that would be a pity I feel Eamonn Lynch put in alot of work over the last three years, two Ulsters and a league .
But things would have to change from the remarks made and from what I have heard through my many footie friends. But again no one knows the full story, or do they.......

For all of ye talkin garbage. At the beginning of the year, all persons is welcome to try for the County. There is no restrictions. If you think u are good enough then go play. Instead of just saying there is clicks in their - just go in and try it out. I think the management has put a good effort in and are doin well. They have 6-7 players away travelling at present and with them back would challenge anyone. Best of luck the weekend girls and pass no remarks on this bla bla bla.

JimJim-There is no way I am getting at the amount of hard work and commitment these girls give to the county, and in my opinion there are some of these girls who would make any county team in Ireland, and help improve any county team. Nor am I saying anything in way of management as they have brought success to the county. However, it needs to be said that that girls who are at the top of their game for clubs throughout the county are not been asked in to play, and as I posted earlier if they are asked in it is done so in the wrong way. And prehaps its just the girls I heard it from that there are clicks in there. New members need to be made welcome. And again, I know alot of the girls have been playing together in the county set-up for years, and have become the best of friends and it's hard to break into these groups.

kicker, stop hiding behind a longford name and let us know what your real problem with the cavan set up is? if you dont have one, then please go back to your own county pages and stop trying to put doubt into the cavan management team half way through the championship campaign. Eamonn and his team have worked very hard this year to get new faces into the panel but apart from collecting them from their houses before training and dragging them into by the hair, there isnt much more he can do. To the other person that is whinging about the panel selection, you sound like its sour grapes because you havnt been called in. Maybe, your just not good enough!

Cavan-Ned- Trust me it's not because I haven't been called in. All I'm saying is that more could be made of the panel, and I'm not trying to criticize the panel that is in there. And I know some of the girls that went away are huge losses to the set-up however there was no effort made to try and get people in of their calibre since they left. It was a known fact that these girls had a summer away planned (and only right, football is only a game after all, they need to experience life), but other players could have been drafted in during the league campaign to make the best possible panel for championship. I am delighted with how cavan ladies have done and are doing (only team winning Ulsters on the football side for us), I'm just making the point of the attempts that have been made to pick players.

Cavan Ned or whoever you are I am not telling you who I am either.. Can you read, I have read all the treads of the ladies site and there are alot of unhappy people talking, I just gave my view like everyone else.
If clubs are not sending in the girls they shoudl be punished, if management are not picking the best team they should be replaced, simple as that, every players wish to to play for their county team, I know Eamonn Lynch for more years that I would care to rem, he has done so much for ladies football , first of all in Gowna, U14 county u 16 County Junior County and now Intermediate, I do know my football Ned but someone is going to lose out here, Cavan has 3pt on the league table with two game left, Tipperary and Roscommon, both very tough games Roscommon is on the bottom we would all be hoping for a diffenent win here leaving Cavan with 6pts and Roscommon gone.
But there should have been no need for this debate in the first place, the best team should have been on the field, and Cavan playing in the quarter Finals.
There can be bye laws brought in by Co Board to acheive this , if Cavan find themselves losing both games, they will also find themselves losing themselves the managment team
I hope things does not go to this as personnel I like Eamon and I think he does thing to the best of his abilty

Football is a hobby no person should be forced to play for there county if they dont want to obvisiouly there are reasons why girls are not going to play for county but its there decision. if there is ''bye laws'' brought in it'll ruin the sport. at the end of the day its a game and girls should enjoy it no matter if its just with your club which is where there loyaltly should be!

whats the story with the county board leaving it untill last minute to decide and inform teams of venues for semi finals and finals?? how are you meant to get any support when nobody knows where or when these games are taking place??

cavanlass, its a honour to play for your county weither your a male or female, its a honour for your club as well, unless your club does't care a toss about the county, I agree with you, your club should in many ways come first , but you must remember without the clubs there will be no county, so why can't everyone work together, and not just work for themselves.
Reading all the treads in this forum everyone is working for themselves, the bigger clubs are not sending in the players, why I do't know, is it all about winning, football is a hobby and a game that should be enjoyed by both players and supporters, but one sided affairs does't work either.I did't mean to make players play for the county but I feel the support should be there by all cooncerned.
