Ya'd have to say lacken, shouldn't really be a contest atal when ya see the way lacken disposed of templeport in the championship and then for knockbride to beat templeport in league semi...

i heard none of the positions on the county board have been filled. its a sad state of affairs that nobody wants to lead their county.

County girls doing really well, 3 wins out of three, Whole county should get behind them as they are probably Cavans best chance of success this year

i agree 100 % with you ned saw them twice this year there really good but havn't been tested yet but from what i've seen there strong, good midfield an plenty of talented forwards an a tight defense . Way better than the men's senior team

Ladies the best chance of success? I'd say our U21's have a good chance. It is good to see the ladies doing well but even if they won an all-ireland intermediate title it would not be as good as the senior men reaching an ulster final. That would not only be reflected on the crowd but the ticket prices and general atmosphere around the county. It is foolish to try and compare the the mens and ladies games as they are miles apart. In recent years Monaghan were very successful at ladies level producing several top class players but even they will tell that it is the performance of the men that dictates what is going on within a county. Look at cavan, our men are struggling so our clubs are struggling.

killygarry lad, you may have a point about tickets and gate receipts. you're dead right, ladies dont generate anywhere near the same amount of revenue (which is partially our own fault, cant give out about having no crowds considering most women dont even go to any other games except their own).

and yes you're right, there is no comparison between mens and ladies football. men are physiologically built to be bigger, stronger and faster than women. women will never be as big or as strong. thats nature. (bet you a tenner grainne smith could still beat 70% of the cavan senior men in a sprint) but anyway, the point that was being made above was that in relative terms (ie relative to any of the mens county teams), the women have had more success in recent years, comparatively, national league title, ulster final appearances, stages reached in the championship, all star nominations, ulster representatives, the list goes on.

typical cavan man anyway, instead of actually lending one word of support to a county team who are unbeaten so far in the national league, you have to go shootin them down. how did we end up with a county full of so many begrudgers!?

good luck to cavan ladies this weekend, AND cavan men, and the u21s, minors, etc etc. give the blue jersey a bit of support, doesnt matter who's wearing it

Congrats to all the Cavan girls on their all ireland colleges success this weekend. It is a fantastic success to have 10 members of our county panel involved in colleges all ireland this weekend.
