whos to say that the best player in down isnt playing his football in div 3 r 4. just because they dont live in mayobridge,burren kilcoo or hilltown doesnt mean that they arent up to the standard. thats seems to be the problem with a major number of people. ross and dj are giving people a chance and i think its the right way to go about.


not everybody is born to live in the big football places. if everyone was to play for where they lived, probably even more of our county players would be playing in the lower divs.

well i can tell you that all 4 have been tried before and got their chance to shine and havnt produced. and then A.brannigan seem maybe to be the one that has been hard done by, but not to many players that are in their at the minute are going to push the team of last year out. wont be to many change from Championship team of 08

I cant believe Im about to say this...and god knows Ill prob not have a chance to say this ever again...but I agree with newryview! Hes right on this 1! Not to say that there are no players in the top teams like the stone that dont deserve to be on the county team, but being from the clone does not give yous an automatic right to be on the senior team ahead of players from lower divisions! This is NOT soccer! Players generally play for their one club their whole life, so you need to look deeper than the top division to find the best players! If your good enough then you are good enough, regardless of your team! And as for those saying that there are players on the panel who wouldnt get a game in division 1...name those players! I think you will struggle to back up your arguement here!
