Patricians won their first leinster U 16 A title ever last Wed, defeating Coláiste Eoin, from Dublin by 11pts to 1-3. They beat St Mels Longford by 3-11 to 6pts in semi final a few weeks ago. Well done to all involved.A great achievement by a team that won leinster U14 A 2 years ago, nice to see them follow on with an u16 title. There are 3 Kildare schools playing A football at U16 level, Patricians, Clane and Naas.A good pointer for the future, surely.

Great for the future to see the 3 Kildare teams in A Leinster. Even better to see that Clane were the only team that Patricians failed to beat on their way to glory. Without doubt, these are the best two teams in Leinster at this age group. Patricians won Leinster U14 A and Clane won Leinster U14 B two years ago but Clane still bet them in Kildare A final.

I know that most of the players on the Scoil Dara team are from Meath (4 ov which start on the Minor Panel)
The rest are Kildare and are very good players
Marcus Duke attends Newbridge College so he doesnt get a run in really with the school football
But Scoil Dara have good footballers like Cian Farrel, Dean Brennan, Thomas Jackman, Johnathon McGrath all on their team

The great Patrician boys school were defeated today by Scoil Mhuire Clane in the semi final of the Kildare championship. This defeat will hurt Patricians because that is the second time they have failed to be Clane this year.

Score was 2 10 to 1 9 but in truth Clane were more than four points better than Patricians.

Clane now play Maynooth in the final next week.
