RTE sports awards 2008...

Harrington probably a shoe-in for this. Any thoughts on Sean Cavanagh to finish in first three. Team of the year: Kilkenny or Tyrone. There have been similar threads but interesting to see how the whole country sees it as opposed to the likes of ourselves, the posters here.

Did Munster win the Heinken Cup this year? - honestly dont know.

Would rather team of year went to Tyrone or Kilkenny who both had magnificant seasons. Dont understand rugby at all. Fail to see the attraction of a game were half the time is spent watching men wrestle each other on the ground and the other half is spent trying to kick a funny shaped ball out of play, played by the self proclaimed upper class.

took me a while but i finally got it. rory o moore was the last man standing, finally taken up near coolrain. at least they put up a fight, the latest plantation of munster, bloodless, is happening without any resistance. it seems to be mainly led by readers of long newspapers and a team of mercenaries, some im sad to say are leinster men. but i think maybe all is not lost, had a few scoops in kilcommon last nite, and nayra word of rugger. its a bit like snooker in the 80s or colic, it will pass.

Mighty bit of road opened this week , may never see urlingford again.
P.S. are you a north or south riding man

Do not try to tell Trevor Brennan that, especially the upper class bit.

Harrington to win Sports star of the Year Award followed by Katy Taylor. The Olympic Boxing team to win the Team of the Year Award with Billy Walsh getting the Manager of the Year Award. Kilkenny should be given the Team of the Decade Award already with both Tyrone and Munster getting Special Merit Awards.

they acccepted trevor as a player ok, but he'll never be one of them, bit like the noveau riche, riding to hounds with the "JINTRY" they help pay for the kennels upkeep

God bless ure innocence Dhorse! Did u know Keith Earls is from Moyross??!! John Hayes is a farmer from Cappamore, Alan Quinlan is from Tipp Town, the murder capital of the south midlands!!! John O'Brien is from Carlow Town, Brian O'Driscoll from the Northside of Dublin, Paul O'Connell from Castleconnell is county Limerick! So where you get this idea that its a posh knobs game anymore is beyond me! Tell that to the 26,000 people in Thomond Park last week and see what response youd get! Munster's achievments on the international stage are something we as a nation should cherish and celebrate, but instead some idiots and !"Bring back the ban" heads in here see is as a bad thing. Ye are so sad! Munster are easily the team of the year, and thats a fact. And to the lad who said the boxing team, they werent even nominated.

re: dhorse

kilcommon Tipperary the site of the best festivals in the country were people just come down out of the hills and go nuts for 3 days, not sure if it's going any more since shane Mcgowan a few years ago some of them got soo excited there was a few cases of spontaneous combustion and the marquee burnt down.

As for the riding part I find Northern Irish and the ladies on the other side of the border equally attractive but the ladies from ulster might shade it with the accents.

durdle durdle duedle hi Situiation!

Sure Trevor Brennan rarely got his game for Ireland. And when he did, a couple of Aussies punched the head of him and not one of the "goys" made any attempt to help their teammate in green.
