Claregalway aren't as goos as people are making them out to be. SK_Man (Galway) - Posts: 43 - 24/02/2009 23:10:09 217427 Link 0 |
Most of the people who are hyping up Headford on this thread are not from Headford and I know all the lads on the Headford team and they realise that it is a huge step up from B to A!they will just keep their head down and do their best in every match but they realise that they probably wont win anything this year!but two years ago in minor B it was the same thing where they were just aiming to do well in the league and championship without winning it because there were 2 or 3 teams a lot better than them and since they were expected to lose every match there was no pressure on them and they could play their own football and they ended up reaching the county final that year so stranger things have happened! yeah i think we should just forget about headford and let them concentrate on winning the first round which i dont think they willl. theyre playing an average claregalway that havnt won anything in a few years. however i believe they will beat headford with players like conor costello and dooley!. they seem an average team and when they come up against corofin or tuam they will flop!. corofin steede will wipe them off the field and and tuam bodkin will cause them serious damage!. tony_melia (Galway) - Posts: 81 - 25/02/2009 17:16:25 218172 Link 0 |

How could headford win something this year if they wont even get past the first round maigh_eo (Mayo) - Posts: 1346 - 25/02/2009 18:40:13 218290 Link 0 |
Just saw the draw for the north B championship. You'd have to fancy Dunmore, Athenry, K/Clonberne and maybe Caltra for it. As for the league, I'd expect group 1 to be dominated by Dunmore. St. Gabriel's, St. Kerril's, Athenry, Loughrea and Williamstown, I think are the opposition. Maybe St. Gabriel's or St. Kerril's might'nt be too bad, I dunno much about em. As for Loughrea?? In group 2 I'd imagine Clonberne and Caltra to come out on top. joel (Galway) - Posts: 45 - 25/02/2009 23:11:21 218568 Link 0 |

once again we are seeing people jump to conclusions..i would say most people dont even know what town theyre from..they are a good physichal fit team and although they mitent be the most natural footballing team or maybe not win silverware they will make it hard for opposing teams..had two players on ted webb under16 an have very good prospects coming through..i would watch them very closely as they may have a good year knowledge (Galway) - Posts: 31 - 26/02/2009 17:33:59 219298 Link 0 |

In response to GALWAYFORLIFE. Dunmore have two lads on the minor panel. Niall Gleeson and Ronan Cleary. Both are good footballers although, maybe not starters. Gleeson an all-rounder and Cleary would probably fit in as forward but is also a good midfielder. joel (Galway) - Posts: 45 - 26/02/2009 18:37:14 219383 Link 0 |
Do you Know the full group 2 in the North Minor B League, Joel galway4lyfe (Galway) - Posts: 58 - 26/02/2009 20:34:24 219477 Link 0 |
knowledge they are not from any town.ballymacward is barely a village. they have produced some good underage teams over the years but i saw them play at u-16 last year and they were very weak so i wouldnt be expecting them to do much this year at minor.they wont be in contention for silverware anyway. manager5 (Galway) - Posts: 724 - 27/02/2009 09:36:48 219794 Link 0 |
look no need to go spliting hairs but if u want to do that its just not ballymac its gurteen as well...did u red my comment right???i said they wont win silverware but they will make games hard for the better teams...hows your club goin to do??? knowledge (Galway) - Posts: 31 - 27/02/2009 16:50:08 220531 Link 0 |
Well boyz i would have to admitt tuam are going to win it hands down. they have great players in bodkin etc.. ye are all hyping up corofin and claregalway? corofin have only one or two good players. claregalway have maybe 1 or 2. who have they on the county training panel?dont think they have any?. tony_melia (Galway) - Posts: 81 - 28/02/2009 20:29:55 221083 Link 0 |

There hasn't been too much talk about salthill they must have a good enough team . They did win the u16 county championship. I'd say there in with a fair shot. Specially with the draw they were given. 3fullback (Galway) - Posts: 10 - 01/03/2009 18:43:34 221373 Link 0 |
