32 you havent a clue what you are talking about. for a start caherlistrane will be in B and wont be rated in the top 5 teams in that division never mind in A. they are very weak this year.also monivea always played in B with this team through the years and i expect them to do so again this year. annaghdown won the u16 B Championship in 2007 so they will probably have to play in A this year at minor but they will probably be the weakest team in it. manager5 (Galway) - Posts: 724 - 08/01/2009 11:13:30 175629 Link 0 |
manager5...annaghdown will be playing in A as will monivea who only lost to annaghdown at u16 level after a replay two years ago..monive will be in A as they won it two years ago and lost to county champions corofin after a replay in 2008 and have many of this team underage including county centre back brian flaherty..as for caherlistrane they may not be in A but they do have plaers such as Shane Bohan Eric Monaghan Craddock etc..who will win it so seems you know it all?? 32 (Galway) - Posts: 118 - 08/01/2009 12:27:50 175689 Link 0 |
There are a number of good teams to contest the minor championship this year. PopItOver (Galway) - Posts: 4 - 08/01/2009 18:17:13 175993 Link 0 |
Monivea came nowhere near winning anything two years ago at u16 B and would not be strong enough for A this year at minor. manager5 (Galway) - Posts: 724 - 08/01/2009 21:56:41 176152 Link 0 |
i suppose it will be tight..corofin will be favourites though 32 (Galway) - Posts: 118 - 09/01/2009 15:32:39 176739 Link 0 |
yeah monivea wont be up to much good this year. finsihed rock bottom this year in minor and dont seem to have a strong side this year. i would say corofin would be eager to win something at this age as they have never won the championship at this level. lost u12 u14 and didnt qualify for u16 finals at this age group. are a very strong side but claregalway have beatin them at this age all along. they will be eager to get one over on them?.. tony_melia (Galway) - Posts: 81 - 09/01/2009 19:32:51 176991 Link 0 |
monivea or athenry aren good enuf 2win minor league or championship dis year..mountbellew or kilkerin clonberne are d best footballing teams in d group knowledge (Galway) - Posts: 31 - 14/01/2009 19:08:04 180523 Link 0 |
tony_melia Breathnachs most defiantly dont depend on conroy.. all round very good team.. watch out for them this year.. James's will be a huge threat aswell as they have the exact same minor team as last year more less. gonna be a tough one to call killanin very good side but cant see them winning this year. Corofin dont really know much about them but are good.. claregalway brilliant side aswell.. I reckon it'l be a city or west team to win it anyways thats my prediciton gaillimh abu (Galway) - Posts: 45 - 14/01/2009 22:17:42 180695 Link 0 |
knowledge you would want to brush up on your knowledge.for a start mountbellew will probably be forced to go up to division 1 after winning minor B last season.secondly kilkerrin clonberne came 2nd last in this group two years ago.only caltra were below them and they were terrible. athenry and monivea came 3rd and 4th unless im mistaken. what abot the two top teams headford and williamstown.any one fancy one of these teams to do well in 2009? manager5 (Galway) - Posts: 724 - 14/01/2009 22:50:16 180735 Link 0 |

actually i agree with you. i know there was alot of trouble in the camp two years ago. they have three lads with the county minor panel at the moment and will be hard bet this year. ur obviously from over that neck of the woods. how many of last years team are still eligible? manager5 (Galway) - Posts: 724 - 15/01/2009 22:35:09 181861 Link 0 |

is there any of the clubs back training? corofin and clairegalway will contest the north with perhaps tuam and annaghdown getting as far as semi final!. who are the corofin cand clairegalway players on the panel? tony_melia (Galway) - Posts: 81 - 19/01/2009 14:28:47 183795 Link 0 |
Manager5- you dont know too much about minor football if you think that williamstown have a chance of winning B. they might have done well at u16 but havent a hope this year. Kilkerrin clonberne would give any club in the county enough of it on their day. saw them last year and they were a great team, and were unlucky not to beat mountbellew. infinity (Galway) - Posts: 38 - 19/01/2009 19:02:21 184166 Link 0 |
infinity where exactly did i say williamstown would win minor b this year? i asked what people thought of their chances.pay attention good man! as for kilkerrin clonberne i know they will be hard bet this year but theres no point going by last years team as they have lost a number of them and they shouldnt have even got to that final against mountbellew.there was serious controversy in their semi final against headford because of decisions made by the ref.i saw the second half of that game as my own club were playing afterwards. that was the general concensus that day. manager5 (Galway) - Posts: 724 - 19/01/2009 23:38:08 184426 Link 0 |
