The correct starting Mels Leinster Winning Team 03 (15 Longford players)

Pat Farrell (Kilashee)
Niall Flynn (Abbeylara) Brian Mc Cormack (Rathcline) Brian Mahon (Clonguish)
John Balfe (Grattens) Enda Williams (Clonguish) Sean Donoghue (Ballymore)
Joe McCormack(Killoe) Adrian Murphy(Slashers)
Martin Tarmey (Slashers) Cian Cooney (Ballymahon) Colin Smith (Slashers)
Tomas Dalton(Clonguish) Joe O'Brien (Clonguish) Ciaran Williams (Clonguish)

This mels team wasnt given a chance in 2003 but kept the proud Mels tradition alive by giving battling performances in every round until beating st.Pats in the final. Mels has always been a great feeder school for Longford, 5 of that 2003 team are now on the provisional Longford team namely Pat Farrell, Brian Mahon, Enda Williams, Joe Mccormack and JoeO'Brien. There is no way Mels should go down to B championship, they have won more Leinsters than any other college and they'll have their day again.

All these teams been posted and none of them are right.

Pat Farrell

Brian Mahon Brian McCormack Niall Flynn

Sean Donoghue Enda Williams John Balfe

Joe McCormack Adrian Murphy

Martin Tarmey Cian Cooney Colin Smith

Ciaran Williams Joe O Brien Enda Ward

Enda Ward was the one everyne was missing.

Enda Gallagher, Denis Gibbons all cud have started that day, just down to team selection on the day.
Damien Rooney and Richard Dooner were out injured and wud definitely have started if fit. Quinn in midfield was suspended for his antics in the semi final.
Sean McCormack wasn`t even close to the top 20, just shows how much he has come on and all credit to him.

Also Colm O Rourke wrote in the independent the following sunday that it was probably the Best game of colleges football he had ever seen.

Final score 2 14 to 0 17.

Also Shane Dowd was very close to the team, some excellent displays as a sub in the previous games.
