titus is that because you have no interest in watching players that will make up the vast majority of future county teams? lovely attitude you have there. mels to shade it although whoever wins will probably be out after that

re: nickybutt

the idea of an institution like mels leavin d A championship is utterly ridiculous..whilst the team at d moment and last years for that matter are a disgrace to the colleges name, st.mels is widely regarded as one of the top four colleges in the country along wit st.jarlaths, colaiste chriost ri and st.paths of maghera..the college is goin through a bad period football wise but it will turn a corner again like we did in 2003 winning the leinster with 15 startin longford players..it would be an insult to mels to lower itself to b football or have you forgotten the two most important words in mels - Aemula Virtus..mayb it is bcoz of people like urself want to settle for 2nd best that mels football is mediocre at the moment..

I think moyne will jus scrape it. I think the teams are well matched but darren farley will be the difference between dem as he is probably d best player in longford at d moment maybe one of d best evr. hes a class act and a nice lad! frm chippy.

re:formerblue
remind me of how much they lost by in this years 1st round?
how is that striving for excellence, and i merely suggested it as an option,i've not been in the county for the past 6 years so im only going on what happened this year...how did they perform the last few years?

God love you titus! where else are the players going to come from? both schools have had better players go through there recently but thats whats there now and need encouragement and support, constructive criticism, not cheap shots from fools like you

re: nicky butt

mels get a hockeyin in one game in the last 81yrs or thereabouts since they first entered the leinster and ur callin for dem to be demoted...dats like tellin dublin dat they should forget bout sam and just focus on the tommy murphy cup..and seein as ya havnt followed the boys in blue for such a long period mayb u shud keep ur foolish opinions to urself...dey havnt done much in the past two yrs but hav future contenders for da senior in a promising u-14 team but u wudnt know dis seein as u only read one result in 6yrs...

ok in hindsight i was a bit over the top with my swuggestion.......point taken formerblue.

i was talking to a few of the teachers and apparently soccer is nearly the most popular sport in the school and they won their 1st senior west leinster title last year.............shame to see if the tradition of football in the school is being lost to soccer

They cant exactly be claimed to be a Longford team now can they King of the Wing.

At least the Gaelic team is maed up of lads born and reared in Longford.
