Croker is cracker, but hope Ulster Council and Belfast press appreciates general support for special atmosphere at Clones. By spending a wee bit of money there, it could easily be developed into a 50,000-plus stadium.

This is clearly croke park, but the likes of (again) Laim Walkinstown going on about Clones being good, maybe you should have proper look, a great ground is not one with an atmoshere, any ground which is full can have an atmoshere, but Clones is a nightmare, and doesnt deserve to to mentioned in the same light.

Just seen the building at mchale park now.Wow!It's a bit of a mess at the moment but it's going to be some job when its finished. It's a pity the mchale road side isnt being further developed but all in all nobody can complain. The new stand looks like it will be bigger than any other stand outside of croker except maybe the new stand in semple (i saw the artists impression of the new stand in castlebar and it looks almost identical to the one in semple) It seems also that the new seats installed will be blue! I cant figure this, i thought for sure they would be red and green with Maigheo spelled out across the stand like at o moore park, pearse stadium, etc

I dont know what they do in Galway, but I can assure you that Maigheo is most certainly not spelled out across the stand in O Moore park.

There are may good stadium in the country, but which are the poorest? Louth obviously come to mind after the 3000 max entry to the championship game this year. Offaly used to be pretty poor but they were putting in a lot of investment into a new stand which I would imagine has greatly improved things there. My vote for poorest stadia however has to go to Leitrim unless it has vastly improved over the last couple of years.

Johnboss,Leitrim was done up there a couple of years ago. They built a very nice new stand and also new terracing, looks great,an excellent example of a small county ground. In fact i would say that Connaught has the best grounds compared to any other provence.I suppose that's not so hard when you only have 5 counties but alot of investment has gone into those grounds in the last 10 years. As regards the worst ground i was ever in,id probably say Navan, although that was about 7 years ago, might have improved since then.

which ground is Louths official county ground, is county board or club owned.

have to say leitrim have done a graet job mac diarmad pairc, nice and tidy unlike some around the country that will never be filled, portlaoise being one. must agree newbridge is hell to to get into and very bad visibility of the whole pitch, gr8 athmosphere though

Yes Happy, Aughrim! Maybe you don't appreciate what you have on your doorstep. Mind you it is also the scene of one of my worst memories when Dublin lost to Kildare - for only time ever - in Leinster hurling championship in late 70s. Year we had done well in league and were expected to do well in Championship!!!

Munster Hurling in Semple Stadium - no other stadium can compare to it - even if you hadn't any interest in hurling you'd be blown away - just ask Colm O'Rourke & Joe Brolly. It should be on the list of 'Places to go before you die'!! Nollaig Shona gach duine
