Clones is a great stadium for an athmosphere when its a full house as is Thurles. I wouldn't be a big fan of the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

162449 the one drawback on croker is the fact that its situated in a..shall we say rather disadvantaged area. i have frequently had to pay sum person a tenner to 'look after' my car,the only reason i gave it to them is because o ne time my friend didnt pay up and came out of the match to find his tyres slashed!you wudnt get that carry on anywhere else in ireland!

Where ya goin with your ten euro ya cheap skate, I charge at least 20 yo yo's for minding the cars, anything less and the car gets it, and rightly so

3inarow08 i aploigise i was at a couple of munster finals there and had some good banter there. suppose cant be too bad if there are some decent concerts there over the summer.

But it is like many other GAA stadiums in need of a bit of TLC.

True, but they're giving it a bit of TLC soon. New dressing rooms and the likes. About time I suppose.

well has to be mchale park castlebar. (outside croker obviously)

mchale park is the biggest all seater in the country outside croker. the current upgrade will give a seated capacity of 44,000 and it has the bowl effect for atmosphere.

always likes pairc ui caoimh too. ennis great for atmosphere with low level close roof stands each side.

pearse stadium galway is a windy mismatch in the wrong place with poor terracing. still suitable for galways.

Why does everyone dislike the gaelic grounds so much? I think its certainly one ofthe best in the country, maybe its because not many really big games have been played there since its been done up.I
m abroad but saw some pics of the new mchale park, looks like it going to be very impressive, can't wait to have a look when i
m home for christmas.Does anyone know where i can see plans or get anymore pics of it??

Croke Park has to be No. 1 by a mile. Terrific atmosphere in Clones for a big Ulster championship game, particularly a Final. I really enjoyed Pearse Park, Longford when I was there last. it is a example of what many counties should have.

Favourite ground is Parnell. Atmosphere can't be beat when packed to the rafters. Also like going to Carlow, Mullingar, Navan for the day out and the local crack more than the facilities. Nowlan Park is great venue on most accounts and Aughrim is the nicest location although last time I was there it was about - 7!

Never liked Pairc UiCaoimh. Too far from city centre and characterless. Pairc Ui Rinn better place for league games anyway. O'Moore Park and Tullamore can be cold oul spots but have only been there on bad days weather wise recently.

Obviously the best I've been to has been Croke Park. Aside from that our own Pearse Park in Longford has to be up there with been one of the best provincial grounds. Also Clones and Mullingar.

Top four in order and on a good day;

1. Croke Park
2. St Tiernachs, Clones.
3. Pearse Park, Longford.
4. Thurles, Tippearary.

others that I have enjoyed going to Brewster park, Enniskillen; Healy Park, Omagh; Casement Park, Belfast; Breffini Park, Cavan.

If you're talking about best stadium in terms of facilities seating capacity etc it has to be croker. For atmosphere, Thurles for a Munster hurling championship game/Killarney for a Munster football championship game win hands down.
