Scrapping promotion throught the league is a shocking decision, what was wrong with the old format. In reality now teams wont have a game of note until late May/June. Why would lads give up other sports to train for that. The county board are trying there best to ruin GAA in this county. Why should lads who cannot do a simple task like make a hurling draw involving 20 teams be put in charge of making decisions like this?

Is the championship still straight knockout and only one team up? Any word on the draw?

The connaught council should have taken into account the number of clubs in jun and inter in galway. One up in the likes of Leitrim and Roscommon mite be alrite but Galway is way too competitive for only one team to progress. I at least hope that the champ wil be changed to group stages and propose an open county draw. If they do it at under 16 level cant see why it cant be done at jun and inter men. It would at least shake things up a bit instead of playin the same teams year in year out.

From the North, Headford wud have to be favourites followed by Gabriels, Glynsk, Tuam and Ballinasloe in that order. In the west wud seem to be between Arainn, Spiddal and Renvyle. Headford for intermediate!!

footinturf, i agree with you on headford being very strong favourites for the north board but i think a few lads in the sloe would disagree with your placement of them as fifth favourites seeing as all in the town is lovey dovey there again after a ould bit of letter forgin.

Headford have the players but only a few of them have the will and want ta go all the way if they get things together they have the players. but soccer and rugby come first to most of them...

gaaok1 not true re Headford. There's 4 lads that play rugby and 6 lads play soccer out of the entire panel.None of the rest play other sports.4 out of the 6 soccer lads definitely have gaelic football as their first sport and would choose it over soccer any day.The bigger problem Headford have is the number of players based away from Galway
