in fairness the standard in the north is poor but there still are some good teams, the likes of headford, ballinasloe and milltown. the 2 teams that went up to inter this year were from the north board.

Tuam and Corofin are supposed to have very good junior A teams this year. Its a very competitive grade, it will be a very good team that gets promoted.

Dont forget St Gabriels. If the team are putting in half the effort the club is to succeed they will take some stopping!

dont think they will be anywhere this year, rumour is that there is alot of trouble in the camp still with a total lack of unity.
i'l stick with headford to win north with dark horses kilconnel and mountbellew, but the eventual winners will come from the other side.

I will be staying on Inis Mean for 3 weeks in june to do a course in the gaeltacht for primary school teaching. It is around the same time as our run in for championship at home in Roscommon so i am wondering is there any possiblity that i could train with your team to keep up fitness etc. If anyone has any details or can point me in the right direction i would greatly appreciate a reply or you can email me on [email protected]

Thanks in advance!

Arann have to be favourites to go up (just remember that ins A Piarsaigh man who manages them:P )! Na piarsaigh have tons of talent but just too many injuries to key players.
Carraroe won't win the junior a , nor will Renvyle because they only win home games , and with the state off that pitch at the moment who else could possibly play there!

Arainn are a class act and i really can't see anyone coming near them this year in the west. they are extremely fit and determined and very disciplined. they easily accounted for an spideal yesterday and they should have won by a greater margin. rico on the line may be missing link from last year. i hope ye get out of junior A lads because ye def deserve it. all the best in 2009.

Thats what we heard last year - Arainn were unstoppable - they are good, thats without doubt but injury to 1 or 2 players would affect them more then a lot of teams in this league!
