"kick it out" -usually by hysterical mothers on the sideline as defence looks to work the ball out.
"he's been at that all day ref"
"as good as a point" - bad shooting effort in closing stages when the match is over as contest.
"making a hero out of the keeper" - after repeatedly landing shots for points in the keepers hands.
"dem feckin short kick-outs"
"he went for the ball ref"- after a tank of a chap is nearly after taking the head of a young fella with a clotheline tackle.
