ye joeboy think ur spot on with the team...not sure if its the strongest..johnny byrne, barron and mcandrew as subs is surprising i have to say.....heard joyce hanley and barret were the 3 lads ta miss out on the panel for the day...surprised with them to be honest particulary hanley as he was involved last year and barret and joyce dun well in the tip game but i suppose someone has ta lose out and no doubt they'll get there chance.. i hope having so many younger guys (u17s) doesnt go against us...thats my main worry. its a shame that the team didnt get a selector who has been with them down thru the years as apposed to hoban who was wit the younger guys...maybe if someone was close to the players intitially the likes of fahy hanley(balyna) doherty etc wud have commited more..its plain for all to see they have more hope in next years team.

Cant believe that Johnny Byrne, Tom Barren and Bernard Deay are on the bench.

that teams backs are very strong..forwards not great..doherty is injured and would have featured same with nolan..others weren't chosen or didn't bother..

as regards tom barron id say his footballin ability let him down compared to mcdonnel or culle..good strong player though..i could never see bernard deay getting in ahead of mullhall and reynoldes..lets jus hope reynoldes injure doesnt effect him

suprised about johnny byrne also..although i heard he missed significant time due to school and also county hurling

yermon..both players lost out for reasons..mcandrew lost form and johnny byrne was away for awhile and missed a good bit..midfield is weak but there is not many more soloutins..id say its a hard pill to swallow when you heard fitzpatrick wasn't starting..:-)

joey if it was going on form I have no doubts Fitzy would have started as he was outstanding v Tipp (you obviously were'nt at it) and would be very surprised if he dos'nt feature, as he would be an asset to any Team. Dont know what your problem is with him. Johnny Byrne missed no more training due to hurling or schools than Cribben or Hurley. Unlike you I would worry about the backs, especially the half back line, small and light, and Corrigan at Centre back is a strange choice.

infact i was at it and he didnt impress me on the ball and was on for 30 mins..but i dont see what you see in him..big and strong but is a straight line runner and i dont rate him compared to the other forwards..light half back line but all with plenty of football..brown and o'shea are very tenacious players.

lots of the forwards lacking match practice..reynolds, mulhall and cocoman all back from injury and cribben and hurley havent played many games with the panel. lets hope they find they're shooting boots early. i agree with joeboy brown and oshea are real talents and corrigan at centre back will be solid..an excellent defender.byrne is unlucky ta miss out but i can see where murphys comin from. the back are all at there last year at minor.somethin i tink will stand to us..looking forward to the game be interesting ta see how murphy uses the subs if at all..

Dont agree with you on fitzy by the way, have a look at teh DVD of Tipp game, he was involved in most scores. and after Today I hope you saw a bit more.
He also played a part in Monasterevin beating the mighty Sash a couple of Weeks ago @ Senior level.
By The way Boys were class Today.. and great support also.

tink they are a bit off alright..

wicklow were rubbish..a good club side in kildare would put it up to them

podge cullen, colin o shea, darroch mullhall were all brilliant

others worth mentioning were dowling,corrigan,hurley,reynoldes..and byrne and fitzpatrick when introduced..

nobody really played bad..

paul cribbin was by and head and shoulders above anyone on the field 2day..

heard the lads lost by a few points to sligo.. apparently a poor performance but it was sligos first team and wasnt close to ours. not sure of the entire team but all the subs the last day started or came on i tink and a few who werent on the panel last week started too. just shows ya how big the panel is.

Joey are ya cutting again?
Too big, too many, heard 3 more players added to the panel, there must be about 40-45 of a panel at this stage.

panel shud of been fixed at 30 before the wicklow game...its gona be fierce hard on lads leaving them dwindling around the panel for so long and droping them before the wexford game.

Personally I dont think they will drop anyone before Wexford game, surely they would have done so before Wicklow game??
But adding to it again?? I believe one is a Naas Player, again the very obvious influence of Mr Hoban.
I can understand that competition for places is so important, but so is confidence,in any Squad, and how can there be confidence, when they keep adding?
