i agree there catandmouse.. McAndrew is unreal centre forward.. reads the game perfectly.

Yermon earlier in the year i seen Fogarty pushing Hurley close but recently looks like the Ballyna chap has edged it.
also i think Mick Hanley could be in contention for a place in the full back line also.. and Phil Cocoman in the half forwards. Reynolds should be back hopefully as he is a great leader on the pitch, not so much vocal just how he puts himself all over the pitch. i think Bernard Deay might edge Mulhall out for corner forward also..

so much competition always a great sign.

None of us will be picking the team but I must say I would struggle as a player to know whats going on Really at this stage we should have settled side and settle panel. I hear someone new or someone who has been dropped off the panel coming back on.Mixed messages going out to the lads. I would like to go the next match does anyone if Murphy has anything planned..Secondly has he managed a team before and if so who?. His selectors have they been involved with this group of players before?. From what Iread on this forum No settled goalie full back line got roasted against Armagh half back line seems fairly good Midfield chopping and changing half forwards there seems to plenty debate and competion for places Full forward line Well Cian Reynolds Capt will be a definite starter as most of his comments say that he is a good passer of the ball and has good vision and good leader maybe he should be out the field a bit further. Very hard to inspire a team from Corner forward. I havent heard much about the 2 lads from Balyna they must be also assured of their place. Are they involved in Schools semi this weekend. Well thats my tuppence worth. I am confused. Lets hope we beat Wicklow as we have not won a championship game in 3 years.

I think Deay will get in ahead of mullhall, better player, however if reynoldes is injured mullhall should replace his clubman in the corner.I think cians best position is centre forward, going by the county minor final last year.I hear he is being played corner forward. He is doubtful though with hamstring injury. They are in action on sunday in ai semi final..i would persume both players will play major parts for the minors this year,2 outstanding prospects with great size and skill.I don't think this is a great minor team but if they win the first match it will be progress from the minors over the last few years which is a worrying sign.Main objective is to get over wicklow and then worry about the next round.

Have to agree with Kildareaido,
Lambert and Fahey brought onto the panel with 3 Weeks to go, absolutely nuts I would say.
Lads havent a clue whats going on, still 40 on the panel, bringing lads on now, while the majority have been training for quite a while. disgrace.
Laois Minors have a settled panel of 30 for the last Month or so.

Fahey is a good player, left foot, was on the starting team last year, strong and powerfull player.

catandmouse I dont agree that Mulhall should replace Reynolds as he is left footed. Reynolds is not physical enough for centre forward.
Your surely joking about Daey been a better option than Mulhall.
I dont think either Fahey or Lambert will start either.
Dan Doherty joined the panel last Night? it gets even more nuts.

maybe murphy wont pick these lads for the squad 1st day out and thinking about them for the matches ahead which they are guranteed..its up to them to prove they are good enough with their call ups and its up to the players on the squad to up their game because they have more competition..he seriously has to look at des holten..captain on edenderry schools team who are playing at a greater level than anyone else this time of year..

He might as well joey, seems to have looked at everyone else. At least from what I can remember Holton was at trials early on, and was dropped, rather than not be bothered at all. The point I am making is, why bother with trials at all, why should lads bother putting in the combined effort since last Sept. when they could have just waited for a call up now with 2 weeks to go?
I can tell ya from what I have heard, there is a lot of displease in the squad, and BM has nobody but himself to blame.

And what about the lads who didnt impress at the trials or were not at it and are playing very well and standing out in their club games?do they not deserve a chance? We need the best players possible with the right attitude of playing for kildare.

Why were the not at the trials?, when will they get a chance?, against Wicklow?
Cop on, there has to be a final panel named, surely its about the Team and not individuals? is team spirit, morale not important?
I am sure there are at least another 6 or 7 Players not on the panel who are good enough, but if they are not interested, or dont have the desire to play what can ya do?
I would rather have lads who are committed and dedicated, rather than individuals who turn up when it suits then!
