New to this lads. It's interesting to see your thoughts on the two teams who both seem to be very strong this year. On the Cian Reynolds as captain situation I think it's the right decision. Mulhall is extremely temprmental, he's one of those players where if everything is goin well for the team, he's a real talent, but when things are goin pear-shaped he has a tendency to lash out. Reynolds on the other hand may not be the most vocal, but his footballing ability is unreal and he never gives up despite how bleak things are lookin. Some of the passes he picked out in the championship final were absolutely brilliant and only that Liam McGovern was superb in the semi's reynolds would have bin named man of the match and a close 2nd to young eaton for championship final man o the match. A real and genuine talent!!

kildareoo i think your being a little harsh on Mulhall. sure he's seen red once or twice but, as a follower of his age group with the kildare development squads over the years, he has never lost his cool. he is a strong character on the pitch, very vocal and a natural leader. Him and Reynolds are going to cause hassle for every full back line in ireland, never mind leinster. anybody know how they got on against Cork??

went to the Athy-Leixlip game.. good to see Tommy Moolick back, was out for the last three weeks after getting his two front teeth knocked out. Game was over shadowed by an injury to Mulhall. Only came on for the last 10 minutes after a shoulder injury and dislocated his thumb with the last kick of the game. heard people talking since that it is fractured also. has to be a doubt for the wicklow game, hopefully for the teams sake he will return.

(also have to note the performance of Tony Gibbons. Played superb wing forward scoring 2-2, Murphy should have called him back onto the panel.)

very disapointing performance yesterday..so many players didnt perform and arn't up to it against good competition...kildare were not one bit clinical..laois were completely the opposite..very disapointed with eoghan o flaherty because you would expect him to stand up and be counted for..hurley-lynch and mellet were not dangerous at all..running into the corners lookin for ball..players hu impressesed me wer murphy,brown,bradley...ricky maguire kept doyle quiet wen introduced aswell..although cribbin didn have his best day..he tried till the very end and id say covered more ground than any player on de field..9 points flatters laois but they didn play till full potential either..

Minorglory09 I was at the athy/leixlip game too and ur leavin out the fact that athy were missing young reynolds aswell as Mulhall, and also i was just wondering why on earth he was so determined to get on when he was just comin back from injury and clearly athy were well ahead there was no need for him to demand to be brought on and then injure himself even more. seemed kind of selfish of a supposedly great leader?? about the 21s, massive dissapointment and just wanna say hard luck to the lads, who deserved to get further in the championship.

never said it wasnt selfish probably a bit foolish alright coming on so late into the game but ya cany blame the lad for wanting to play again.

Jimmer Nolan (Towers) did his shoulder in again Saturday. massive blow to the team already crippled with injuries.
Surely the final panel will be picked soon?? getting nearer and nearer...

At this stage Murphy should have his panel picked. Some of these guys have been around since last September and maybe dropped at this stage or is he keeping 30 to 35 players on the panel. Only 4 weeks to the Wicklow match. I think we should beat them by at least 5 points. We played them at under 16 level 2 years ago and beat them easily I think the score was 1-17 to 0-5 though it will difficult in Aughrim. A couple of players that i have not seen on his panel are Mickey Fahey is he still playing and the big fellow from Naas Sheridan and another fellow O Brien (Maynooth) another big man all these three would cause serious problems to any team.

Sheridan has been out injured for a few Years, only back as such this term. O Brien and Fahey havnt been seen for a while.
Most of the lads involved have been around since last Sept. any one else mentioned on this forum have either had a chance, or werent bothered to attend trials.
I agree that we should beat Wicklow, but wouldnt be over cocky going to Aughrim.
There seems to be alot of guys involved that are underage next year, and maybe the eye is on next years team rather than this years. I said before, we cant be going out against Wicklow with too many small lads, as although Wiclow wont be great, they will be very big and physical.
But Fellas like Barron, Doherty, Fitzy, Dowling, Nolan, Moolick, Cribben are big lads, most on their last year, and will prob start.

Daire Dunne has been on the panel up to recently but i think he has been dropped.
Dean Hanley has given up football altogether.
Mikey Fahey should be called back as he is still flying it at club level, as is Des Holton. skocking call that he wasnt selected..

also i dont think we need anymore big forwards, lads like Hurley, Cribbin, Bolton and Fogarty are all 6 foot onwards, with plenty of scoring ability..

Joey I dont agree that the best Players played last Year.
Most of the Players you mentioned dont seem to be interested, I would rather have lads going out who are committed, or are you suggesting with a little over 3 weeks to go, they should now get involved and start?
Again I would mention the forwards mentioned are underage again next Year.
The lads up to the age must be poor?
Would be interested now in hearing what lads think with getting near Wicklow game what will be the starting 15.

Minor Glory I agree that your very close to it there.
I would say.

1, Whitson. 2, Barron. 3, Dowling. 4, (Cullen/Corrigan). 5, O Shea. 6, Byrne. 7, Brown. 8, Doherty. 9, (Moolick/Comerford). 10. Mc Andrew. 11, Cribben. 12, Fitzpatrick. 13, Mulhall. 14, (Hurley/Fogarty). 15, Reynolds.

Moolick and Doherty are very similar, but Comerford prob a bit small for the Mid Field.

Mc Donnell is currently out injured.

Barrett is a good player, but is in competition with Reynolds, who is bound to start(unless injured) as Captain.
