i agree ballyboy although i wrongfully critiscised one or 2 players but the management hav been spot on..3-14 to 2-4 joeyboy (Kildare) - Posts: 412 - 23/05/2009 19:04:48 291801 Link 0 |
Great win so. Hope we dont go the same way as the u-21's though. A hard match probably would have been of more benifit to the team. Who do we play in semis does anyone know? JJ1 (Kildare) - Posts: 547 - 23/05/2009 19:43:51 291824 Link 0 |
Everyone is intitled to their opinion Joeyboy, I just don't agree with the tone of the last few posts on the previous page. It all seems to be about the non-selection of a particular player, I know the lad concerned and I would be of the opinion that if he continues to work hard he will get his chance, I also know the lads involved in the minor management and if he can play his way onto the team there will be no one happier than them. The attitude displayed on previous posts is the same old bull that has plagued Kildare football for as long as I can remember, allways pick the negiative points and finish with '' I hope they do well'' that way they are covered no mather what happens. Why do some people have to see a conspirasy in everything On behalf of my own club I would like to say well done to all concerned on their achievements to date and to fellow clubman Pauric Cullen, you are doing us proud ballyboy (None) - Posts: 36 - 23/05/2009 21:24:20 291877 Link 0 |

There is nothing wrong with debating the team selections, but some of the posts here and on the Kildare website are questioning the integrity of the management by implying that its all based around Naas. That is below the belt, there was only 2 players on the team from that club, and if you take an objective view you would see that there was a good spread of clubs on the panel for yesterdays game. As for clubs wanting what they consider their best players involved thats only natural, but the management are not looking at players through rose coloured glasses and maybe the are seeing something that clubs who have a bias are not. As for my own clubs view ( AS YOU KNOW ITS NOT NAAS) we have been in this position on a few occasions in the last few years, at minor and senior and at no time did anyone ever come here or anywhere else and slate the team management. The best advice you could give your player is to speak to the management and ask why he is not making it, am quite sure he will be given their reasons its then up to him to address that, the question is will you accept it. My experince of challange games (you mention a few) is that they are used to look at players and patterns of play, a loss is hardly a hanging offence. You passed the comment that it was only Wicklow and Wexford that we beat. to me that is just your way of belittling the achievements to date when you consider our record over the last number of years, what gives us the right to look down our noses at anyone. ballyboy (None) - Posts: 36 - 24/05/2009 13:22:12 292056 Link 0 |

Looking at this topic i have to agree with a lot of what ballyboy has to say, and i find it very unfair on the young fella in question, and this will only put added pressure on him to perform when he does get the opportunity. i would suggest we move of the lad and back to the bigger picture. mickmoore (Kildare) - Posts: 326 - 25/05/2009 14:43:35 293054 Link 0 |
surely he has got his chance if they are not playing him by now? joeyboy (Kildare) - Posts: 412 - 25/05/2009 14:58:41 293071 Link 0 |

Lads I travelled up to the game last Sat purely because the Wexford minors were expected to make an impact in Leinster this year - especially with A O'Brien as manager. But I must say that your minors were a joy to behold. They are obviously talented, but their movement and team work was outstanding. Wexford were unbelievably poor in the first half and I must say that the ref didn't help them at this important stage of the game. Sometimes it seems that when things are going against you, they sure go against you. I don't know what's out there in Leinster but I would be amazed if ye don't at least reach the final and maybe go further. By the way, what the hell are ye feeding those chaps up there? Even the subs are big men! paddywexman (Wexford) - Posts: 289 - 25/05/2009 18:42:07 293383 Link 0 |

Kevin Feely(athy) and des holten(balyna) have been drafted onto the kildare panel since yesterday....oisin doherty should be fit for the meath game which will provide huge competition for places....this panel is getting stronger and stronger but the worry is that the boys didnt have a good hard match yet so what will happen if they go a goal down against meath...hopefully dis wont happen and i would like to think they would bouce back after it.... minorstillidie (Kildare) - Posts: 46 - 26/05/2009 09:59:12 293944 Link 0 |
The Meath match in the next round should be a good test for the minors as meath were very convincing winners over westmeath..In the other semi i would be expecting dublin to win but with dublin only beating laois by a point a.e.t last week i cant see anythin ther that kildare cant handle..Also with players lik oisin doherty(castledermot), Des holten (Balyna) and adam tyrrell (moorefield)still to come in id b expecting no less than leinster for this team athiabu (Kildare) - Posts: 157 - 26/05/2009 09:59:36 293946 Link 0 |
