have any of you who think Mickey is right and that we should scrap the compromise rules series, stopped to think that even if the series did not exist and we did not have direct contact with the AFL that this 'poaching' would still happen.

In a world were there is increased coverage of GAA games and we also have the internet etc these Aussie clubs would soon hear about the good players in Ireland and would not be long dispatching a few guys to this country to tempt our best players to move to Oz.

I think its a bit naive to think that if we cut all ties with the AFL then no gaelic footballer would ever move to Australia again to play Aussie rules!!!!!!!

I'm not referring to any top GAA names that changed codes. Its players that we lose at under 13, 14, 15 that get caught between codes and eventually have to pick one - unlike some counties where gaelic games are not the most popular, soccer and rugby are far more popular choices.
