Yes Denis Johnson manager of Mary's. He had a good team under him in harps and left when 4 or 5 from the startn panel left. He was lucky with the team he had lst yr.

datsrite - amazing how when a team is doing well it's the players doing but when a team is not doing well it's the managers doing. He's obviously doing something right to get them to a Connaught final.

He'll have his work cut out with the Leitrim St Marys. Just never know what they're going to produce from one game to the next. Or even from one half to the next

Massive move from St marys to get Denis Johnson from Sligo. Denis is one of the most experianced coaches in Connacht having managed senior teams in 4 out of the 5 counties.
CV - 4 Sligo senior championships with E-Harps - 93,95, 98, 08
- 1 Leitrim senior championship with Allen Gaels - 02
- 1 Sigerson Cup with Sligo IT - 04
Denis is also a former Co Sligo Senior and U-21 manager. He will no doubt bring the best out of Carrick and I feel they are definately the team to beat this year.

Anyone know what any of these managers are getting in expenses. Guess the average is around 8 K for the year. Not bad in these recessionary times

As far as I know Allen Gaels have the same man as last year - some fella originally from the North.

8K is actually relatively cheap for a manager nowadays Fred - although it is still big money, I have heard of some recent apointments in the county getting over double this!! I suppose what recession you may ask!!!

Fred....Kiltubrid's new manager is a big city guy. Guess who.

Heard from a mate in Kiltubrid who the new manager is. Think your wrong bout him being a big city guy. From my memory he is a small country guy from north Roscommon (about 5 foot five) and might be related to the first US president. Can you put two & two together? Do former great players make great managers. We will see!!!!

victor has a house in the parish and is down most weekends. he used to train with kiltubrid when they were intermediate.i think its a good appointment especially good for the forwards as thats where costello played in both codes

Heard this rumour in Carrick today, its bold move but i suppose they're looking for that extra edge. I have also with witnesed some of the best scrums for the bar when the Kiltubrit Lads are in Havanna!!
