I tink the slashers lads are sound, outside of my own club they seem to be the only lads that dont tink there high almighty lik!! even after a game win or lose there sound about it n get on wit it!! some club players in longford think there special n that people shud look up to them!! they wud wanna cop on!!!!

exactly!!!i know a few of them lads from slashers and they always say hello when i meet them, they are far from arrogant and they are very laid back folk!!i think spinx is just jealous of some of them and cant accept that they are the ultimate club not only in longford, nor leinster, but ireland!!its time to wake up and smell the roses!!
although hopefully the connolly cup will be coming home to abbey soon!!

I was just answering a question on the Ultimate Club and just stating facts in which slashers haven't the most county senior titles won unless you add all the other clubs that were in longford then they have!!! I'm entitled to my opinion, so there ya go!!!!

Slashers 13 titles. If you're saying that Drumlish/Fr Manning Gaels have more then you're wrong. Fr Manning Gaels have 4 senior titles. The clubs in Drumlish, Ballinamuck like Young Irelands won the other 10 or so. If you add the clubs who Slashers succeeded then that makes up 20.

Well Chung Lad I don't see where the Clonguish man from the 60's comes from?!!!! Why would a Killoe man be a Clonguish man???? Yes Clonguish are the team with the most championships on there own. But i never stated that. The thread was about the Ultimate club so i don't see why its about who has the most senior champoionships. It should be wants been won and done within the club in the last 5-10 years. Not whats been won in the past 110 years!!!! Your the fool my friend!!!! LOL

Have to agree there with Spinx on that one. Ultimate club should be based on the last 5-10 years with underage, football, hurling, ladies football, facilities and success been the deciding factors. Only club to have it all is Clonguish but I could be wrong. I'm not sure if Mostrim have a ladies team but if they have its down to the 2 if them!!!!

dromard are the ultimate club of the last 10 years end of story. beating the gaels team destined for 4 in a row in 99, winnin in 05 after beatin the 'great' clonguish side in the semi and then 07 after sufferin a 10 point drubbin to colmcille beforehand. then the remarkable 4 in a row of u21 titles coming from a club with zero history of underage succes at "A" level shows the commitment and drive of all the people in the club considering the small population. dont give me that about hurling being a factor, the 3 senior hurling clubs only started in the 1st place due to the areas being lucky enough to have people living there from hurling counties to start an interest. north longford isnt as lucky. clonguish are anything but the ultimate club, they have had the best team on paper the past 6 years and have underachieved so much its unbelievable. for the record, not that it really matters, fr.manning gaels clearly have the most county titles - just because a club changes its name doesnt mean the club itself is different (if crossmaglen rangers changed their name to crossmaglen stars in the morning would that club no longer have 4 allirelands?) unlike slashers whos title count is made of of multiple different clubs. spinx just trying to lay claim something for clonguish

Dromard abu, why should hurling not be a factor in determining the ultimate club?? This topic is clearly about the ultimate club not the ultimate foootball achievements as you seem to be implying. Club means every facet of GAA life from hurling, football,Scor etc. It just seems that Clonguish have had a broader range of success than Dromard in my opinion. They have a record to rival them on the football field also in the last ten years since '98- 2 Senior Chsps, 2 Div1's, 4 Leader Cups, 2 Minor Chsps, 1 u-21 Chsp, 1 Junior Chsp, as well as actually winning Leinster club games. Not to mention success in ladies with 3 Snr Chsps and 4 leagues, with 3 Snr hurling Chsps. As for overall Senior titles it should be recognised that Fr. Manning Gaels Hold the most on 15, Slashers with 13 and Clonguish with 12. I think Dromard have 4!!!
