Worst GAA Tradition of them all!

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

The parade before the game. As a player there is nothing more frustrating.

Right lads, ye've the warm up done and ye're all fired up.......... Now off ye go and do a very slow walk around the pitch to cool down......... such BS!

Askuresister you must never have been on the Hill when Westmeath has won so!

I think the Hill 16 is the best place in Croker to watch the game.Upi nthe top left hand corner beside the Cusack Stand. Great view and great atmos. i was in the premium stand for one the games this year but I thought the Hill 16 was far better.

As for county champions picking the captain it not the best solution to be fair. has caused a fair bit of controversy over the years. None of the 3 mentioned Mid kerry players are certain to start next year

Would have to agree with the one about filling the cup with drink. After a while all you can see is people's spit floating around in it. Its disgusting

Worst tradition has to be putting the big tall fella in full forward and kicking in the high ball. Too predictable!

154066 Eating hang sangwiches from the boot of the car and discarding the crusts around Drumcondra. Never a bit of 'mate' left in them.

You should try it sometime Jayo but its no good unless there's a smell of cow ***** coming out of the boot as well.
One thing I could never stomach myself and that's "braun sambos" how do Dubs ate them yokes... God

Ah Spuddy are ye sure yer from Mayo at all lad?

bovaclox,
panacur sc (as dhorse mentioned),
ivomec pour-on,
Cepravin dry-cow,
Triple A - golden maverick: A for acidified, A for anti-scour, A for accelerated growth.

What was the name of the stuff Joe Cooney used to grad the head of a calf stuck a syringe in the side o its gob and let him go?
Then there was the sliothar used to break through the panes of glass as the voiceover said: "???? smashes mastitis through the 6 week, 8 week, even the 10 week period".

All these ads used be on All-Ireland day only, for the mad mullahs!

154279 Kissing thwe bishops ring before the throw in

What????

Should have read kissing the bishops ring,

Was all the go up to the late 60s. the bishop of Cashel?? would get to throw in the ball at the AI preceded by the captains being introduced to him, bending down and kissing his ring, i bet tomsmith would be well up for that, great man for the aul tradition.

Ye that was the tradition the Arch Bishop of cashel would throw in the ball to begin the AL final watched a clip of the '55 AL recently Kerry and Dublin and a big Dublin lad stretched the AB just as he threw in the ball knocked him and his cap off ( a fair shoulder it has to be said nothing high or late ) and the game starts with the AB rooting around looking for his cap and O ye Kerry won.
