County Champions nominating the County Captain. This has to be the most riduculous joke of a tradition of them all! Look at the Kerry situation now. What a joke! It makes a mockery of the true meaning of a captain! Liamwalkinstown (Dublin) - Posts: 8170 - 01/12/2008 16:23:50 153979 Link 0 |

Long boring speeches after winning trophies, particularly after the All Ireland finals. Get the Cup and then straight down to the crowd. Jeez, who even knows what Brian Dooher said this year. Time to give that tradition the boot. It's better served at the banquet. And another thing, the GAA should hand out medals to All Ireland winners/losers straight after the game. It happens in every other sport. Time for the GAA to keep pace. exiledindub (Mayo) - Posts: 123 - 01/12/2008 16:48:06 154019 Link 0 |

Liam not too fussed on the idea myself but i seen a way round it to keep the traditionalists and modernists happy. Jarlath Burns on the under dogs now has two captains a leader for on the pitch and a squad captain two roles one could be chosen by the manager one by the county champs, thought it was a brilliant idea. If the dubs get the tickets for the hill first fair play to them. What really irritates me is the fact that Dubs think they have divine right to warm up into the hill before the match! This isnt the premiership!! Was good to see Mayo (I think) challenge them on this issue! Mondo (Longford) - Posts: 148 - 01/12/2008 17:04:05 154046 Link 0 |
