If you go to theGAAstore.com you'll see the current jersey named the "06-07 Jersey" and going for a bargain price! I think we'll see a new one just in time for Christmas. Just like the last 2. Seems jerseys only last 2 years for nearly all teams these days.

Meath have had the current Jersey for 3 years loyal. The last one with Kepak on it was 2 years but that was due to the sponser change. Before that the jersey was there for 4 years. So its not as bad as soccer clubs.
A change of jersey might be nice, A new Jersey, A new Manager, New Players(hopefully), A new era.
Generally the counties always have their jerseys for 3 years & some have had their last jerseys for a lot longer, like, offaly, carlow, cavan... & more.
Time to change it anyway. They stink of Wexford....

Got an e-mail from an online retailer:

The new Meath jersey will not be out until the new year and we have had no confirmation as of yet to exactly when in the new year we will be getting it.

They were wearing the old jersey last Sunday, but it didn't have the new GAA logo on it, so perhaps there will be a new jersey...or perhaps Meath just won't change even to the new logo either!! Westmeath didn't have the new logo on their jersey either

Well Lifestyle in Navan were selling the current jersey for e10 last weekend so that must mean something. Even seen cavan lads buying it for that price.
If emailed Oneills themselves on numerous occasions but I take it their internet connection went down every time they tried to send the reply. Poor guys.
Would love if there could be a bit of fan input into the jerseys when they decide to change them. Like even just pick a few random suggestions from a survey or whatever among the fans to see what they like or would like, after all, it is the fans who are expected to fork out the ?60 for it for about 30 - 35 games. Less than a premiership season & they hafta keep their home jersey for 2 seasons...

I think they get something like e3 from each jersey same depending on the retailer. Not sure how true that is but it came from both a retailer & a co board member a few yerars ago.

I may be wrong but I think the county board receive 'royalties' for all merchandise sales.
I think it is in relation to the use of the Meath crest. The old crest at the top of this page does not have a copyright.
The new crest is copyrighted and hence any item that carries the crest (jerseys, tracksuits, jackets etc) is subject to a royalty fee.
This is why all the counties have brought out new crests over the last number of years. Same for Leinster and Munster rugby and soccer clubs also.
It stops anyone from just putting the meath crest on any item and selling it as the county board would not benefit.
I remember a number of years ago Umbro brought out polo shirts for Dublin, Meath & Cork etc and O'neills were not too happy about but could do nothing about it as there was no copyright.

As I said I could be wrong on this.

I agree on the fact that the fans should have more of an input. There should be suggestions put forward to the type of seign put on them.As Meath is the heritage capital of ireland we should have more than enough historic monuments to have reflected on the jersey. It can show other counties that we are proud of Meath right down to the bone!!I know the crest has got this already but could a simple celtic deign on the sleeves or a watermarked monument on the back be used...just an idea!!

The answer to one of your questions lies in the message above. It was a cryptic message...
