Don't know about the youngest, but my father-in-law has a photo of an Adamstown team that won the Wexford minor hurling championship in something like 1928 and he knows for a fact that his father was the only player under age on the team. paddywexman (Wexford) - Posts: 289 - 22/11/2008 21:14:46 147701 Link 0 |

I think Graham Geraghty was just 16 when he won the minor All ireland with Meath in 1992. theblindassasin (Meath) - Posts: 915 - 23/11/2008 19:25:21 147975 Link 0 |

spot on superdub. Big Joe was 18 and had won an all Ireland minor medal the year before as a GOALKEEPER!! Think Jayo was young enough when he won his all Ireland but can't remember how old. Think Spillane was the youngest captain to lift the Sam (in the absence of the injured Mickey Ned!) dubupnorth (Dublin) - Posts: 1897 - 24/11/2008 08:52:45 148157 Link 0 |

XXX had senior finals in mind but while others are going off in tangents I may as well throw in my tuppence worth Beano McDonald won a minor AL in '96 aged 15 and played again in the AL finals of '97 and '98 . chainsaw (Laois) - Posts: 712 - 24/11/2008 17:22:16 148682 Link 0 |

HokeyPokey, which All Stars exactly did Cooper deserve??? He won each one because he surpassed the standard bar of all other forwards, being as he as a player that could only be described as exceptional in skill, accuracy, vision, delivery of passes and all the rest of it. Contextualise your outrageous claims please... 3inarow2008 (Kerry) - Posts: 204 - 25/11/2008 09:59:37 149124 Link 0 |

Never mind young fellas. What about the boy in Wicklow who is 67 and won a county junior championship this year! And scored a goal in one match. There's a fella playing goals for a junior side in Dublin that I'd say is not far off that! hurlingdub (Dublin) - Posts: 6978 - 25/11/2008 10:25:39 149164 Link 0 |
