I think a Cavan fella was the youngest to ever play in a AI senior final at 16, about 80 years ago or something mind, not sure about youngest winner though. mid-mon man (Monaghan) - Posts: 1680 - 20/11/2008 14:49:11 145935 Link 0 |

Without recourse to records I would say it was one of the Considines from Clare, who was 17 when he won an All Ireland inter county senior. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 20/11/2008 18:30:10 146219 Link 0 |

Brendan Considine was 17 when he won with Clare in 1914, and won again with the Dubs in 1917. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 20/11/2008 23:22:24 146561 Link 0 |

Straying slightly but Colm Cooper has 5 All Stars at 25. That surely is a record 3inarow2008 (Kerry) - Posts: 204 - 21/11/2008 01:14:55 146609 Link 0 |

I remember Kieran Comer coming on as a sub for Corofin in the 1998 club final against Erin's Isle. I think they said he was the youngest to win an All-Ireland Club, that might be false I'm not so sure. I've also heard that the youngest player to win a senior county medal was a young fella from Louth (who won it at the age of 15) by the name of Stephen Staunton! Jokerman, Staunton was 16 years old when he won the County final medal with Clan na Gael in Dundalk. I think it was 1985. He scored the only goal of the game as well. I was at that match. Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 21/11/2008 13:12:20 146867 Link 0 |
