I think a Cavan fella was the youngest to ever play in a AI senior final at 16, about 80 years ago or something mind, not sure about youngest winner though.

- yeah that was Patsy Lynch. You probably heard or read Jimmy Magee saying that, He's always on about it!!! It was in 1928. He won a junior AI the year before though so it's probably him. Was still there in 1933.

Without recourse to records I would say it was one of the Considines from Clare, who was 17 when he won an All Ireland inter county senior.

I was talking about the youngest player to play in a final. Kildare did win that year but you'll see it was Cavan that they beat.

Brendan Considine was 17 when he won with Clare in 1914, and won again with the Dubs in 1917.

Mind you Johnny Walsh of Tipp won his 5th medal aged 23 in 1896. He would have been 17 when he won his first.

I remember Kieran Comer coming on as a sub for Corofin in the 1998 club final against Erin's Isle. I think they said he was the youngest to win an All-Ireland Club, that might be false I'm not so sure. I've also heard that the youngest player to win a senior county medal was a young fella from Louth (who won it at the age of 15) by the name of Stephen Staunton!

Jokerman, Staunton was 16 years old when he won the County final medal with Clan na Gael in Dundalk. I think it was 1985. He scored the only goal of the game as well. I was at that match.
