Shaughs, Eddie Brennan, Cathal Naughton. Not many in football, but Ryan 'Ricey' McMenamin had serious pace even though the duracell battery is pushing on in age. eiregocroi (Cork) - Posts: 201 - 17/12/2008 17:45:28 166523 Link 0 |

Its hard to judge people from counties you don't see alot of, but I have heard Higgins is quick although not seen much of him. I reckon the following would be up there: PGD (Tyrone) - Posts: 55 - 18/12/2008 17:17:51 167507 Link 0 |

I wa at the dog racing in Dundalk a number of years ago and they had a G.A.A. player racing a greyhound. The player, i think it was Ollie Mc Donnell (could be mistaken) had a good start and won the race to the cheers of the crowd. Tippman - I'd say the Antrim fella might have been Tomas McCann (small, wing half forward.) In my own county Mark Little is a flyer, rarely seen any defender keep pace with him on a dry sod (Andy Mallon wasn't able to, though Barry Dunnion from Donegal always stuck to him well.) Stephen Kelly is unbelievably fast, to the point where he seemed to forget where he was going at times! Damien McCaul from Tyrone came on against us in Clones one day and he looked very fast as well. Played Clare a few years ago and Michael O'Shea stood out as being very fast as well. These things can be very hard to judge .... I recall when Chris Armstrong played for Spurs years ago, he was supposed to be able to run the 100m in 10.5 secs ..... and he never really looked that fast on the pitch! Damian McCaul is the fastest tyrone player in their sprints. Injured for season now though. Lightning quick. clearvision (Tyrone) - Posts: 138 - 30/12/2008 15:28:56 171369 Link 0 |
