Its a toss up between Mick Lyons and Liam Harnan, easy. This thread should be called "Who Was The Toughest Player Ever Mick Lyons Or Liam Harnan". Htaem (Meath) - Posts: 8657 - 16/11/2008 17:52:18 142398 Link 0 |

Knocking out Brian Talty in the tunnel at half-time in an All-Ireland doesnt count in my book Im afraid in regard of Mullins. Has to be Mick Lyons in my opinion. icehonesty (Wexford) - Posts: 2581 - 16/11/2008 18:04:24 142402 Link 0 |

The " Iron man from Rhode" Paddy McCormack or the infamous Mick Lyons. Two different eras but two tough hard feckers. kobie (Offaly) - Posts: 272 - 16/11/2008 19:33:54 142443 Link 0 |

Was watching TG4 today and it showed Mick Lyons getting punched in the All Ireland final in 1990 by Niall Cullinane (I think) Class the way he just looked at him scratched his cheek and walked off not a bother on him. A real tough player on the field and a gentleman off it. RobK (Meath) - Posts: 479 - 16/11/2008 20:43:12 142483 Link 0 |

Mick Lyons for me although our own Glen Ryan had a tough streak left back (None) - Posts: 83 - 16/11/2008 23:13:51 142591 Link 0 |
all tough players i have to agree but mullins was never bullied or outplayed on the pitch.made hayes and mcentee look like minors.they only got tough when he retired.hayes even said so! mullins and jack o shea-would embarrass any midfield pairing of today.don't mind lyons-not even toughest in meath, heard ' red ' collier was.is this true? superdub (Dublin) - Posts: 392 - 17/11/2008 01:53:29 142617 Link 0 |
