Christy Toye vs Armagh AI SF 2003. For once the short passing up the field worked a treat and Christy got in on goal about 20 metres out. Instead of running the ball further in he just lashed it in the bottom corner. It was the only goal Armagh conceded that year as far as I know. Also, about 4/5 Donegal players were on the deck after the goal having been leathered by Armagh men after popping off the ball during the move. Mulligan's goal looked great and was great but...........the cut of those two clowns trying to defend. The man merely dipped his shoulder a bit and off with the two boys halfway accross the other side of croke park. They will forever have to watch themselves looking silly for the rest of their days and rightly so....anyway because their was no seriously dodgy defending involved i'm going to give maurice the nod vs dublin thurles '01. scholesy (Kerry) - Posts: 180 - 13/11/2008 17:40:30 140730 Link 0 |

ciaran carey in the munster semi final 1996 against Clair, all-ireland champs. With time running out ,game tied up, he collected the ball in his own half back line, went on a run through mid field, into the clare half, still running as if the game was in the first 5 mins, after beating 4 players and realising he already caught the ball twice, soloed some more, flicked ball up and hit it in mid air, 30 yards out, straight threw uprights for the winning score! Kerry V Galway this year played host to a good share of the best scores Iv ever seen in my years. Michael Meehan put on a one man show of how to take exceptional scores in horrific conditions. But when Kerry were just pulling ahead and seriously needed reassurance Dara O Se scored a point that said We're safe. Emotional times! And very wet ones. 3inarow2008 (Kerry) - Posts: 204 - 16/11/2008 02:54:20 142237 Link 0 |

Peter Canavan in an U14 (in the mid '80's) match in Blackwatertown - Armagh, can't remember who we were playing, but Canavan from the sideline kicks a point - was unheard of at the time. sam2008 (Tyrone) - Posts: 799 - 19/11/2008 13:14:58 144900 Link 0 |
