Just when you mention John McEntee there patrique, it reminds me of an absolute peach he scored against Clontibret in Ulster.

If I remember right it may have been over the euro mark, daylight robbery! Bit like the match itself as it goes!

Derek Duggans free from 60m into the breeze?
Have to say the best hurling one was DJ in a senior club match, 10 yards of the endline, 25 ms out from post, and buried it in the top corner at full tilt. A Legend!!

Apologies for not being as precise as I should have with the location there Boxty, next time I'll have the exact co-ordinates for you! I should have said sideline instead of endline, apart from that it's pretty clear I'd say, 50m out along the sideline. If I remember right Tony further back, around the 45 in the crossmaglen half at the time, by jaysus if he'd scored it the point would have been even better!

The Eamon McEneaney point vs Kerry to level the game was quite a score alright, with the distance combined with the pressure as you say. I was only a wee lad at the time but remember it well.

Eamon O'Hara v Galway in 2007. I doubt I'll ever see one I'll call better.

our graham in 2005 v Dublin. Scored 3 superb points that day but the pick was the one in the corner between hogan & canal end.
Had no right to even win the ball where he did & then split the posts with the left peg. Sheer class.

I not a Dr Crokes supporter but one that gave me most satisfaction was Gooch's goal in the kerry County Championship semi final 3/4 years ago against Laune Rangers. The laune rangers keeper ran 25 yards out of his goal and flattened Gooch off the ground off the ball. A minute later a long high ball was kicked towards the LR goal. Gooch caught it into his chest on the endline.Nowhere to go and the LR fullback up his keester. He then shimmied his way around him and with a finish like the one he scored against Mayo in the 2006 final all the LR keeper could do was fall on his ***. There was a great cheer from neutrals at the keepers expense

The best score i ever saw in G.A.A...... Well i got it myself !! Caught a high ball on my own 14 yard line and soloed past 14 of the opposition and planted it in the other net. Was celebrating with a few backward flips in front of the stand when i got a dig from the wife to get up for work ! Great score though !!

Football would have to be Derek Duggans long range leveller against Mayo, a truly inbelievable feat given the distance and the fact he took it off the floor. Paschal Keeleghan goal last weekend against Portlaoise was a cracker, so check out the link earlier in the thread.
In hurling my personal favourite is Billy Dooleys goal against Wexford in the 1995 Leinster semi-final. This is more for the skill of John Troy beforehand than the finish but all round a class goal. I also have the Eoin Quigley point in the Leinster final a couple of years ago, a brilliant piece of skill.

Someone referred to a great goal by JBM in the 1980s against Galway- it was the 1983 All Ireland Semi Final- it was an incredible overhead strike by the Cork legend. I was a very young child at the time sitting in the Cusack Stand and am glad to say I was there for that classy strike.

Rhodejim - I'm a Portlaoise man and that was still one of the best goals I've ever seen. How do you possibly defend against that!! Are the full match highlights anywhere?
