lacey, dunnion, cassidy, kavanagh, mc fadden and murphy...mickey harte said himself that he'd love to have christy toye and michael hegarty so if he wants our reserve players then the other boys mentioned wouldn't be too far away... Murt (Donegal) - Posts: 252 - 24/11/2008 16:10:02 148568 Link 0 |
houserules, you seem to have some sort of problem with Glenties. And i never mentioned 2005. I mentioned 4 players from Glenties who are very Talented & Young. If you happened to see them play every week then you might know what your talking about. And as for winning nothing. Every club in the County is in the same boat regarding Senior. St Eunans won two in a Row in case you did not know. However Glenties did won two U21s in a row, and in the U21 Semi and in Senior League Final this year. Not Bad, What did your Club one, and Junior does not count. The keeper (Donegal) - Posts: 711 - 24/11/2008 20:03:10 148828 Link 0 |
What is the story with this glenties stuff? How do people justify picking A Thompson and T Donaghue when they have proven they are not up to it at county level. And someone had A Thompson at wing half back, in my opinion he has no pace and would get skinned alive! Leon Thompson is very talented if he can stay injury free but forget the rest of them SeanieSense (Donegal) - Posts: 328 - 25/11/2008 09:13:11 149060 Link 0 |

Sorry keeper but your wrong. I have seen them play several times this year and many times this past few years (including against). They have not been up to it when they represented the county before in the league and even the odd championship outing. They also dont have to play especially bad to know that they are not county standard. Im sure they would give it a rattle but we should definately look elsewhere. Sorry your Wrong Seaniesence, A Thomhson only played the once for Donegal in Championship and was only 18. There you go again, saying players are not up to it and only seeing them the ONCE. If he had not got Injured he would have got more Chances, and Made the Grade. Again i will say it again, the 4 men i mentioned from Glenties deserve there Chance, and let jj decide then, lets hope jj has seen them more that you. The Keeper. Any reasonable player deserves a chance but I think Donaghue had his and will not be back. Also A Thompson will probably get his chance but I'm not sure he's up to it at county level but saying that is one of the better club players about. Wade will also get a chance but he will have to committ to it if he wants to make it. The best two players you have mentioned are Leon and Leo class acts. P.S. You should stay off here and concentrate more on your own game as I see you were replaced(Dropped) at the weekend what's the story there...????? lol...!!! boydonegood, Nice try but you are wide off the Mark, Have not played for Glenties in about 17 years. But keep Guessing, LOL The keeper (Donegal) - Posts: 711 - 26/11/2008 13:26:44 150368 Link 0 |
Keeper, Whats you problem. am I not entitled to my opinion. You were very quiet all year, until you boys went on a run of games. County players shine all year, not just over 4 or 5 games. Some of them prob are good enough but there would be question marks! by the way I am a member of a junior club in a small rural area and proud of it. Dont like you attitude about junior doesnt count. It is attitudes like that, is the reason the county is in the crisis it is. An apology please. Junior clubs play there part too. We have played in all the divisions over the past 15 years and even contested a county final in that time too. Finally it would be a shame for Glenties if they were not winning things now at adult levle given their underage success. houserules (Donegal) - Posts: 165 - 26/11/2008 18:24:02 150721 Link 0 |
Murt i have never heard such rubbish! The day the great 1 would say he wants toye or hegarty would be the day id pack it in! Those players you named wouldnt make our county minors dergboi (Tyrone) - Posts: 373 - 05/12/2008 16:50:35 158135 Link 0 |
Dergboi, apart from Penrose there aint one player from your corner of Tyrone anywhere near the County panel so stop getting so judgemental of Donegal players when the Castlederg/Aghayaran area is hardly awash with talent. Donegal_Hi_Sir (Donegal) - Posts: 4 - 05/12/2008 22:45:00 158381 Link 0 |
somone said about the keeper that he was quiet until glenties won 4 or 5 games try more of arond da region of 10 nd is there a posabilty that its da best undeafeted run in 1a dis yr and in that run johnny bonner, marty boyle and a tompson nd bredan mc dyer wen he came back fme injury wer probally the best players. You see thats why donegal get no where, there is no divide in our county, whenever Tyrone are playing we are all the one! it dont matter if your from strabane or ardboe! your a tyrone man! not like the rubbish that goes on in donegal! I detect a hint of jealousy seein as i live in a county which has 3 all irelands, correct me if im wrong? Derg and aghyaran men have served our county well over the years and we dont forget that! dergboi (Tyrone) - Posts: 373 - 08/12/2008 15:32:33 159374 Link 0 |
St Michaels - Ciaran Gallagher should be calld up... has been preforming well the last number of years. his college conterbution last year was second too none. why hasn't he got his call up?? johnjoejoyce (Donegal) - Posts: 2 - 11/12/2008 11:26:15 161799 Link 0 |
It would appear that Kieran Ryan is a victim of an out of town-er, just because he was not born in Donegal he should not be victimised. tomsmith (Cavan) - Posts: 4030 - 14/12/2008 21:34:08 164089 Link 0 |
