Ballinderry have lots of good players in reserve Colin Devlin wasnt playin the last day corner forward with derry, also have a James Bateson fella who came on the last day decent player aswell. Most of their moves would go through muldoon class player. FoolsGold (Cavan) - Posts: 2893 - 06/11/2008 21:28:12 135514 Link 0 |
I remember a few years ago Ballinderry giving the Gaels a lesson in Clones; admittedley, the Gaels have progressed but for them to have a decent chance on Sunday week tactical nous, cuteness & ruthless defending will be required; St Galls wasted alot of good possession......they cant afford to give Ballinderry the same amount! gaels have a chance here but weather conditions may not help their cause as a hard fast pitch suits them best and the pitches are getting softer by the day. cavanfa111 (Cavan) - Posts: 14 - 07/11/2008 09:39:54 135666 Link 0 |

What about the Minor game? What are Cavan Gael's Minor team like? Played Ballinderry Minors this year and their a decent team. Caizo (Tyrone) - Posts: 138 - 07/11/2008 19:17:27 136432 Link 0 |
seen jelly limpin off at the end of the league final today.....looks like hamstring gone....would have to be a major doubt for sunday.....good win for gaels against a very determined cuchullans team.....you would have to question the wisdom of playin a league final in nov though???...its not like our co team delayed things....also making the gaels play this the week before ulster semi final??they wouldnt give them a match beetween the cavan semi final and final??? co board obviously dont give a f""" bout them...just to prove my point they make the minors play their league semi final the same day as the juniors play their championship final when a lot of the minors are involved with the juniors???? joke..... i believe redhills minors got their game called off cos the seniors were playing the league final.....co board hate the gaels too....fact.. macdaddy (Cavan) - Posts: 40 - 09/11/2008 21:40:31 137226 Link 0 |
Good to see that those understanding & competent individuals within the fixtures commitee are still alive and kicking!! In what other county in this island of ours would the club provincial semi-finalists be required to play some of their players twice over the same week-end one week before the aforementioned game..... in November! I'm not a 'Gaels man', but surely they should've been given every oppurtunity to prepare for next week-end...........considering that so many of our Senior club teams have done so well in Ulster down through the years...!!........ Anyone know the extent of Johnston's injury ? Will he be fit for next weekend ? Cavan_Slasher (Cavan) - Posts: 10253 - 10/11/2008 18:22:28 137876 Link 0 |
come on da gaels. its a shame that the whole county couldnt have the manners to get behind the team that are representing them in Ulster. This ignorance is what has Cavan football at such a poor standard. chazzreinhold (Cavan) - Posts: 14 - 11/11/2008 11:52:38 138361 Link 0 |
Wishing the Gales all the best on Sunday, and I'm not a Gales man, but would love to see the Cavan champs win the All-Ireland. It would have to be good for Cavan county team, raise the profile of both club and county football in Cavan. Hope Gales find a few new young players who make great strides in county team over the next few years. Might also encourage other senior teams to improve as they might believe they are not that far behind Gaels, and if they could win in Ulster why can't we... If the pot of jam/Jampot is correct....lets all raise our glasses to those responsible for our master club fixture plan & also their extraordinary pursuit in the promotion of Cavan club football on the provincial scene when we need it most...!! Absolutely remarkable work lads.....keep it up..!! Clink, clink!!!! Steaf (Cavan) - Posts: 20 - 12/11/2008 13:05:41 139516 Link 0 |
Gaels lost Sean Reilly from playing the week before the St. Galls game and last Sunday has cost them 2 more players. If Cavan were playing in the Ulster Championship at Minor or Senior this coming Sunday there'd have been no games last weekend. No league final in Derry last weekend and a disciplinary issue from the county final up there is gonna be looked at when the Ulster Club Championship is over. That's what ya call doing all ya can to make sure your county Champions have the best shot at Ulster. They're hypocrites. If the gaels win Sunday they're expected to play the U-21 semi the following Friday and the Minor League Final on the Sunday. Imagine what our fixtures would be like if we had a successful County team. begby (None) - Posts: 105 - 12/11/2008 15:07:29 139640 Link 0 |
I have to say begby has a point, if the county team was playing the co board would halt all club matches for weeks before the match, same for the county minors etc. The same courtesy should be shown for the county champions in all grades in their respective championships. I have to say that i would like to give my support to the gaels on Sunday and if they won, it would be a great boost for cavan football but unfortunately with ---- on the team, I am unable to do that for his verbal abuse of players and cheap cowardly digs that he gives has no place in our games. As long as the refreeing is not as bad as the St Gall's game I think we can take it by 3-4 points! At a price off nearly 2-1 its a great price, for a wee bet. The underdog tag will also fuel this team! cavancheapskate (Cavan) - Posts: 66 - 14/11/2008 00:36:31 141131 Link 0 |
Dennforever, dont be a sore loser!! Best wishes to all d gaels lads on sunday!!! Its a pity that the county cannot get behind us!! Unfortunately its a sad sign of the state of d football in cavan Timmens (Cavan) - Posts: 6 - 14/11/2008 02:18:29 141151 Link 0 |
