Not that it matters but it is now emerging that the players leading the 08 panel also received similar threats but decided that by going public you would be playing into the cranks hands, accordingly they said nothing and simply ignored the fools.

Well it would be easy for the players to say that they had threats to try take the blame off them. What happened is sad and can not be tolerated.

The players putting political agenda before everything is poor form. They should have put it aside and gone to the funeral. Just shows how pathetic they are.

The Cork hurlers have left a bitter taste in a lot of peoples mouths.
Every team this year will put in 150% effort just to beat them and Cork will have plenty of time to look back on the 2009 when they go out of all competitions at the early stages.

What will you do then, gang up on the new manager?

Yorkie the bulk of them did that and went to the funeral. Opposition teams always give 100% against Cork, we want and expect no different. I'm not sure how anyone can give 150% but if you think they can then good luck to you. I agree the Cork dispute was bruising and hurtful and mistakes were made on all sides, I don't think anyone has the monopoly on hurt Lessons have to be learned from this. the County Board needed reform and I believe it will be reformed. New watertight structures will have to be put in place to ensure this can never happen again. But finally and importantly we all have to move on from here.

Sammy we all wish Gerald a peaceful life and all the best for the future, and everyone would have nothing but contempt for a moron who would make a threatening phone call. However you cannot blacken the names of players and their supporters by associating them with the actions of a idiot. I thought the article in yesterdays Tribune to be fair and comprehensive, I would reccomend anyone with a genuine interest in the dispute to read it. Overall no side can claim a monoply on hurt, it was a painful bruising period for everyone, I can only hope for better times for all in my County.
