the 2008 squad are a disgrace,and the county board are cowards,and what about the 2009 squad,are they going to be thrown out like yesterdays dinner?? KENNY123 (Limerick) - Posts: 53 - 11/03/2009 14:38:51 230078 Link 0 |
the cork players and some of their fans are absolute feckers!!! i hope they get nowhere in any of the games they play because they're nothing but spoilt brats. i and many other people have no respect for them anymore-its so irritating and fustrating to see how they have succeeded in getting gerald mccarthy to step down. The cork team are now the outcasts among the common gaa fan Mayo1951 (Mayo) - Posts: 167 - 11/03/2009 16:35:24 230231 Link 0 |

Decent man, its a pity they (players 08 & their supporters) used threats and intimidation on the mans family to get him to resign. below the belt completly. i hope cork get hammered in the championship AnnaghminnonRvr (Louth) - Posts: 32 - 11/03/2009 23:32:26 230605 Link 0 |

Not that it matters but it is now emerging that the players leading the 08 panel also received similar threats but decided that by going public you would be playing into the cranks hands, accordingly they said nothing and simply ignored the fools. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 12/03/2009 09:46:24 230709 Link 0 |
Well it would be easy for the players to say that they had threats to try take the blame off them. What happened is sad and can not be tolerated. Yorkie Kid (UK) - Posts: 174 - 12/03/2009 10:05:47 230725 Link 0 |
Yorkie the bulk of them did that and went to the funeral. Opposition teams always give 100% against Cork, we want and expect no different. I'm not sure how anyone can give 150% but if you think they can then good luck to you. I agree the Cork dispute was bruising and hurtful and mistakes were made on all sides, I don't think anyone has the monopoly on hurt Lessons have to be learned from this. the County Board needed reform and I believe it will be reformed. New watertight structures will have to be put in place to ensure this can never happen again. But finally and importantly we all have to move on from here. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 12/03/2009 10:49:29 230766 Link 0 |

I wish you and your family a peaceful life Gerard; I hope you can get on with your lives after these traumatic times; My heart goes out to you and your family; I know, 99% of the Country is behind you, and wishes you the best for the future; SAMMYTHEBULL (Galway) - Posts: 1646 - 15/03/2009 23:25:07 232924 Link 0 |
Sammy we all wish Gerald a peaceful life and all the best for the future, and everyone would have nothing but contempt for a moron who would make a threatening phone call. However you cannot blacken the names of players and their supporters by associating them with the actions of a idiot. I thought the article in yesterdays Tribune to be fair and comprehensive, I would reccomend anyone with a genuine interest in the dispute to read it. Overall no side can claim a monoply on hurt, it was a painful bruising period for everyone, I can only hope for better times for all in my County. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 16/03/2009 10:00:38 233018 Link 0 |
