How many other london players have got a sniff of county football at home?
Not too many. The ones who have are surely well good enough for the london county team!

'I will have you know that Patrick Lynott was London's top goal scorer in the league in 2004, when they beat Carlow and ran everyone else close'

padraig0g - That was 4 years ago!!! What has he done since. There were alot of good players 4 years agao - Stephen O'neil was one of the best players in Ireland four years ago

For selfish reasons, I hope McCloskey isn't around! I'd say Micky Moran will sort something and get him home.

That's a good team chancey. I'd stick Fulham's Gary O'Hare in at corner-back. Very good man marker.

Where is Andrew Shanaghy in this list. He played some blinders of games last year in the league and think he deserves his chance.

The best player in this town without a doubt is Shane O'Sullivan from the Towers and has been for along time!

This is one example of why London never seem to advance as they overlook players who are south of the river!! Has Noel Dunning et al ever contacted Shane?

The Round Towers have been in the Semi's for 2 of the last 3 years yet as there been many players in the London panel?

Sorry forgot too many London born players to warrant inclusion!!

just like they have done with the underage, south london should have it's own team that participate in the all britian, along with glostershire, lancashire etc, i don't think they would be fit for the all ireland series, but at least with the travel scenario, it would offer players south of the river the opportunity to play county football without having to survive on 2 hours a sleep at night getting tubes and night buses back from greenford.

It was on the Irish Post/World last week. Noel Dunning has take the reigns again. He has a management team, see article below. Have to say as a supporter of London GAA not overly excited about the news, Dunning has stood down a few times before, and left the County team when he was needed most, creating lower morale within a team that should be kept as settled and positive if possible

Nice one Dunn!
Noel Dunning is poised for a sensational return as London football manager less than six months after resigning from the post. By Damian Dolan - 20/11/08

Dunning, who stepped down from the job following the Exiles' Connacht Championship defeat to Sligo last May, will be re-united will his former assistant and

selector Liam Brennan, who temporarily took charge of the side for the Tommy Murphy Cup campaign.

The St Kiernan's man led the Exiles to a memorable win over Sligo at Ruislip and had been widely tipped to take over the reigns on a more permanent basis. However, with Dunning and Brennan having both being nominated for the vacant position, Brennan sensationally withdrew from the race at the eleventh hour last week ahead of the pair being interviewed for the job, in favour of Dunning being re-appointed.

Dunning had originally being enlisted to the board's selection committee to find his successor alongside Iggy Donnelly, Mick Kenny, Niall Erskine and Tommy Harrell, but stood down following his nomination.

Having taken over the reigns as London manager in 2004, Dunning resigned from the job following the Exiles' 16-point defeat at the hands of Sligo at Ruislip, publicly stepping down immediately after the match.

Should Dunning's appointment be ratified by Management and then by the London County Board, it would represent a dramatic u-turn for the former Exiles boss who was quoted only last May as saying "I'm going to cut my ties now; I know I've said that before but it's time London moved on and Noel Dunning moved on."

thought that would have been the end of dunning for sure this time!
any word then on who he has selected for the panel? will there be trial games or what???
no doubt he'll have the same faces in as before and leave out boys from the towers, the brendans and neasden!!

I don't think Dunning will be in a position where he can afford to leave anyone out. Players just can't be bothered when it comes to London, which is disappointing as their performances reflect on the county as a whole.

lowry08 - whats make you think you will be good enough for the senior, didnt you know that every player that has come to london in the last couple of years has played county minor and u21 at home.

yet another person that thinks they can just come over and walk straight in without proving themselves!! good luck to you though.

btw - what club did you join out of interest

fiddler - You Obviously weren't at any of the county board meeting towards the end of the league campagin, where poor Noel Dunning had to Practically beg all clubs to send him some players otherwise London wouldn't be able to field. If it weren't for Fulham and Neasden we wouldn't have.

If you are keen to play (which is the main problem here) and of a half decent standard you could well get a chance for London, hopefully it will be different this year!
