London Senior Team

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Since the club (senior) championship has finished now, surely the focus should return on getting London and the county team right. I heard many people speaking out in Ruislip yesterday that this year's championship the highest yet in quality, and thats probably something I'd agree with. Now if a manager could be installed and a pool of the best 25/30 players in the county, then surely the team could acheive better results in the league and at least have a stab at the Championship? (even if it is Galway) Here's my pool: Please add or take away at your leisure, my knowledge with names wouldnt be the best and I may leave some out, so no offence is intended. Neasden Gaels: Paul Geraghty, Alan Raftery, Stevie Maguire, Fergal Cunningham, Barry Comer TCG: Gary McCloskey, Gary Kane, Conor Beirne, James O'Connell, Fergus McMahon, Stevie Boyle, Arron Somers, Andy Gallagher, Dan McCusker, Fulham: Tom Pierce, Marty Hughes, Eamon O'Cuiv, Harry Murphy, Noel Nicholson, Round Towers: Gary McGovern, Mutagh?, Paul O'Donoghue St Brendans: Adrian Brett, St Clarets: Patrick Lynott St Kiernans: James Callery, Phillip Morgan Tara: Chris Donnellan, Paul McDermott, Paul Hehir Shalloe Pearses: Mark Mulholland Harlesden: Ashley O'Halloran

The easy part is naming the players, but how many of those named do you know for a fact will commit? There were a lot of those players named in messages on here who were around last year and wouldn't play for one weak reason or another! The London football team were nothing short of a shambles in the league last year, it was embarrassing to say the least! It's all well and good putting players names down here, but it will be interesting to see how many of them are on the first team London put out in the National League. Actually, who will be the one to pick or manage that team, London don't even have a manager at the moment, another joke! Any more player suggestions? How about Eastwood from Cu Cuchulainns? Geraghty from Round Towers? Fulham Irish - David Connolly, Owen Henry, Gary ? (corner back), the 2 wing backs from Neasden? Declan Meehan TCG....... Any more? Managed by?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AN OTHER!!!!!!!

the best player in london has been left out.
roasted tcg's star midfield, in fact most lads on the sideline would tell you that he is the best midfielder and striker of the dead ball in london to boot.
sean o'sullivan from round towers

Just wondering is there any word on an appointment for London Senior Football manager???
Most counties at home seem to have new managers ratified for next year. Surley if the county board want London to succeed a manager needs to be appointed soon and work with a panel of players before league begins!!
Any names being mentioned for it now?

Any word on any new players in town that might make the London team? I believe Alan Raftery has gone to the US, he is a big loss, he was playing very well for Neasden. Don't be shy and keep it to yourselves lads, let us know who is in town, if his transfer is gone in then you have nothing to worry about, no-one can poach him! I haven't heard of very many at all, all I keep hearing is that there will be loads of players over because things are tight at home, but there aren't too many yet, God knows my own club could do with with new blood and plenty of it! Out with it lads, what big names have arrived?!

demo,
daniel somers most of just had a good day! theres loads and loads of minor players better than him. Hes no where near the player aaron is! Aaron is however still too young and far off the london senior panel. Adrian moyles (kiernans) is the best player at minor level by far at the minute, and will also be ready to make the step up to london seniors within two years or so. chris moroney (tcg) looks a good talent as does callopy (kiernans) and o'halloran (harlesden). These are the 3 young lads id bring onto the panel for the coming season. they have a couple of years on moyles, somers etc.

Michael Keane from Heston would be well able to make the step up. Think he's injured at the moment though.

I cannot believe some of the names mentioned on here as potential County players. Some of them would not get on the big 3 senior teams in London. St Clarets - Patrick Lynott - not good enough for County standard St Kiernans - James Callery - improving but not ready for Senior Couty football, possibly will be in future years Tara- Paul McDermott, Paul Hehir, Enda Gallaher (too small - Donnellan Shalloe Pearses - Flanagan and Sullivan of Round Towers are alot better players and never seem to play a bad game.

I will have you know that Patrick Lynott was London's top goal scorer in the league in 2004, when they beat Carlow and ran everyone else close

James Callery - improving but not ready for Senior Couty football, possibly will be in future years

James Callery is one of the top players in London atm. He played senior county football for rosscommon before he came to london, so i think he's more then ready for our county team!
Played with london in the laegue last year too. Not quite sure why he wasnt around come championship.
