minors will be decent. good few of them bridge boys and the likes of mckibbin, clarke and murray from bford. michael ireland also about. Interesting this year that between mayobrdge and bford in the county final, there was only 1 down minor, ryan brady. also in the b championship, winners cduff had no players selected and finished 3rd only to bford and kilcoo in the all county league! cathal doyle must surely make it!

I dont know what the satrting 15 would be but i was at the minor final and a couple of the bridge boys will be on it no doubt! keith quinn, brendan cunningham, the two gribben twins would give it a good go and patrick murphy and kevin mc clorely! quality players. and boys from kilcoo, ballyholland etc. should be interesting to see what it will be.

any other thoughts

Cant believe that this management team have been given another year. The All Ireland winning team they had could have won it themselves and the basis for winning was the work done in their schools and clubs Thsi really is a backward step for football in Down.

I don't think you can blame the management for what happend that day in Omagh, the boys had the chances to win and didn't take them most notably the open goal chance!

Yes the management could have picked a better squad and some decisons where wrong but we were put out by the eventual All Ireland champions. If we had beat Tyrone that day i have no doubt we would have won the All-Ireland.

The county board didn't exactly handle the sacking of the minor management to well either, they tell them their time is up and then turn round and say actually we want you for another year, bit of a disgrace.

This current management team wouldn't even pick some of the best players in the county for the panel last year, never mind putting them on the team. They were very stubborn in this respect when people were crying out certain players to be put on the panel yet they just ignored it. When the county board gave them the sack that shouls have been the end of it. A new management team should have been given a chance as this one is clearly not up to the job.

i agree they made mistakes, but its not an easy job managing a county team at any level. There is a lot of time, your own time put into it and people on the outside should be less fickle and don't be quick to criticise these men. You never answered my question as to who should be appointed? is there anyone who d actually want it the way people are so quick to hammer you??
