Embarrasing to who jibber? Certainly not to those who you think will make the panel. Your attitude towards fellow members of the GAA is appaling. Do you think players from that club are less GAA men that that of yours? The passion to keep that club going is admirable despite the constant ridicule. These gaels love the game so have just as much right to be on a representative panel as anyone else. Why turn this interesting debate into a cheap shot? Maybe some people need to grow up a little!

Jibbers point is relevant. If there is so much heart and pride how come so many Junior clubs are physically unfit.

small junior clubs dont have the population. look at all the top sides in mayo they're all based in towns. you cant expect small villages to challenge the top teams.

So lads what will the erris XV be?
I would've thought Pj Gaughan, Tony Gaughan, BJ Padden, Seamie Barrett, Chris Barrett, Paddy Barrett, Stephen Carolan, Brendan Moran, Terence Moran, James McAndrew, Fintan Ruddy would all be in with a shout

Obviously I've left out a good few people there

my point was that it is unfair on players who have played at a relatively high level and who have trained all year to be overlooked by having players on a panel who havent played a game or trained in months and wernt able to fulfil some fixtures over the year..it is a joke to have 6 players from ballycroy on an erris panel and anyone who knows anything about football would accept this..even if a team isnt playing players should be in certain physical shape and unfortunately the ballycroy players arnt..

in referance to eternal optomist tony gaughans in australia billy joe is on honeymoon whilst james mcandrew and chrissy barrett are injured i think the rest should be playing

"Is'nt it ironic that players find it difficult to get to training in erris yet managers are willing to travel for hours to get there!!!"

As far as Im aware, Belmullet dont train much at home. Most of their sessions are around Castlebar, which is more central for all the players involved...

Looking forward to seeing this game. How many players involved got as much as a look in to any of the Under 21 panels managed by Pat Holmes and Noel Connelly? Surely a more ``local``management team could have been put together?
