"Cluxton is the best keeper in the country." All-star selectors didn't think so, not named this year !

I was very impressed with Mickey Harte this year his kickouts are first class and I though this was the main reason he was in goal but his net minding was also first class and he is the best distributing keeper I've see in a long time! his ability to set moves going this year was a part of the blues success that was somewhat overlooked!!

Wouldn't rate Cluxton that highly, hasn't been that great since his mistake in the All Ireland Semi last year. Never really rated him but thats just my opinion. Personally think Masterson of Wexford is the best keeper in the Country. Has been great this year.
In Louth there are a lot of quality goalkeepers at Under Age Level. The Gaels keeper at U-12 is superb, Geraldines keeper U-12 is excellent, Plunketts keeper U-12 and U-13 is excellent and the Blues keeper for U-12 and U-13 is excellent. I really do think the goalkeeping talent at Under Age is as good as anywhere else in the Country

The All Stars don't think that Paddy Bradley is in the top 6 full forward line in the country....You telling me he is not.

If any county in Ireland could pick a GK from anywhere, im sure 99% would pick Cluxton

Young Samson of the Joes. Best all-round young Goalkeeper I've seen in a long time. If he works on his kick-outs in the next year or so I can't see him being far off the Joes senior team and he's only 16! Has the potential to go all the way to county...if he sticks at it.

Mickey Harte has been brilliant all year for the Blues, and I know from talking to him that he has been coached all year as a goalkeeper as he never played there before; this makes his achievements this year even better. All he does in training is goalkeeping work with the other keeper and it has paid off as he has got better and better all year, goalkeepers today are expected to regain possession from their kick outs and keep possession from balls dropping short and I don't think he has wasted any ball this year. He could be worth a look at for Louth as cover or to put pressure on Reynolds.

We had a good goalie Shane McCoy did nothing wrong and was dropped when Val got the axe

One for the future, Kevin Keelan DYI and 2008 Louth Minor keeper, class keeper, over 6ft, should be Reynolds understudy in 2009, build for the future, Mickey Harte is over 30

I don't care what other counties do, I don't rate him as a keeper.

Our best keeper was Gerry Farrell from Cooley and where did he play his club football.

Cant recall Reynolds letting down the Louth team often in the past few years
Against Dublin & Tyrone he took off some excellent stops to keep the score down and last year he didnt concede a goal from open play in 7 championship matches so I cant understand people looking to replace him.Hes definately a better keeper now than he was when Paddy Carr was there. He never played under Val Andrews for whatever reason.Agree Shane Mc Coy put in some excellent performances for Louth. He was a great stopper but his kickout was his downfall, it wasnt what youd expect at intercounty level. Still reckon he should be No2 at least ,he never seemed to get a sniff under Mac.
Nulty ,Nash, Crosbie are all good keepers but everybody thinks their own is the best. Englishby from Collon did well this year but hes not intercounty material as hes on the small side and hasnt the physical stature to dominate an area like a intercounty keeper should.
Cluxton is a top keeper. Just because the Dubs are hyped doesnt mean they havent top players also. But sure this years top keeper is next years villian, its the nature of the position.

Look for a start get in a proper GAA goal keeping coach not a soccer coach like we have been using, and Reynolds will continue to improve.

MR, Has young Englishby grown in the past few weeks, because in the paper before the senior final he was 5 11 . As I said before everybody thinks there own keepers best.In my opinion he wouldnt be intercounty material and thats no bad reflection on the chap as he is a good keeper and has done well in the 3 matches Ive seen him this year but just not of that standard.
