All-Brit Club Championship

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

So a few more county finals were played at the weekend, and the draw for the club championship is looking clearer, JM had a mighty shock in beating Oisins, some predicted it, lots didn't. Cardiff made it 3 in a row in Gloucester with an easy win over the previously unbeaten St. Nicks and these 2 will play on Sunday in Birmingham.

But what do the other ties look like so far? I know one of them,

John Mitchels, Liverpool V Cardiff.

Any others?

Mitchel's, Dunedin and Cuchullains all won. AFAIK the semis are Tara v Dunedin and Mitchel's v Cuchullains in two weeks time.

Anyone know how cuhulains game and the other game with connolly's went yesterday . Were they hard fought or were they walkovers. I ve heard Mitchels totally out classed the cardiff outfit. Know little about Taras - are they strong throughout or just have a few goood players in key positions?

Cuchulains beat St Dympnas 1-12 to 2-6. Dympnas were 4 points up midway through second half but faded. Cuchualins finished stronger and probably just about deserved the win.

Taras defence aren't great, easily walked through for goal chances. There midfield and forwards are very good though.

I attended the oisins, jm match. High tempo game in spells! Two very fit teams, very few wides hit. Standard of football was good at times and conditions were perfect. John Mitchells could be best described as solid but by no means great. Might have been missing players but oisins pushed them all the way. It could have easily been oisins the victors such was the style of the match.

wake up big bad oisins are out of the bigger picture now. they were beat fair and square so lets concentrate on the better teams in the country

Dunedin Connolly's 2.12 v Sean Mc Dermotts 1.12.
John Mitchels 3.16 v St Colmcilles 0.02.
Cuchullians 1.12 v St Dympnas 2.06.

What game were you at bigbad? I was at that game and there was a load of wides. Mitchells hit a load in the first half and second half and still managed 15 scores whilst playing badly, Oisins hit a few as well towards the end.

Any team that scores 15 scores playing badly are a decent outfit. Looks like Dunedin had a close one with Macs. Mitchells will be too strong in all departments for anyone else in Britain.

"Mitchells will be too strong in all departments for anyone else in Britain."

Bookmaker by name, I hope not by profession. Do you honestly think you could match an in-form Tara with Donnellan, Enda and Darren Gallagher all on top of your game? I highly doubt it, more likely you'd be sent home with your tail between your legs.

The cant see the team from hertfordshire that connollys narrrowly beat being of a high standard. On this assumption i reckon Mitchels will beat the Scottish champs easily this year. I also reckon that Tara will easily dispose of the Yorkshire champs.

Cuchullains are playing the league final this sunday. Wonder how many of their key men will they rest for fear of injury or suspension.

catle grid your badly informed as connollys played warwickshire (sean Mc Dermotts) at the weekend. if anything would thionk you are trying mind games but mitchells are ready for a fight and are well able for it as showed against oisins in the championship final but that means nothin now if the AB title can not be retained. IF mitchells ge thru the tough scotland test we will think about taras so called great players but in fairness that was heard last yr too but players dont always live up to expectation. now van teams just get on with their own preperations and wise up

Has the draw been confirmed then? Read Tara's notes on the front page saying that they are playing the Yorkshire winners so is the draw definitely

Mitchells v Connollys
Cuchullains v Taras
