Hard to judge on a night like that but it is worrying as Antrim were nt any great shakes and we strugglrd In many aspects most notably ball winning and at times workrate in the forwards. Physicality is a major worry . Saying that the subs made a difference . Terrible conditions lets hope a win like that will boost confidence . Early days .

Never going to be a good game.
Antrim will be kicking themselves for standing too close for that last gasp free. Making it a goal scoring opportunity which Fanning blasted to the net.
Both sides hugely understrength and really the safrons looked the better team for most of that game.
The bottom line is of course we got the win.
The reason we got the win was the subs brought on. Reck, the two Codds,CBD and Redmond.
We got turned over a lot and gave them around 15 frees that will have to be corrected quickly.
Down next up in Ballycran. Should be another brace of points but we should tread warily.
We have a name for performing poorly against poor opposition.
Hopefully the weather will be kind next weekend.
A final word about Simon Roche. He plays with a maturity well above his age. He'll be around for years to come.

Horrible conditions all game. Would not read anything into that game. Good to get a win and lucky to do so. Onto next week and hopefully better conditions.

Replying To Formertownie:  "Hopefully its good enough to get the win . Time to move on back the new lads and get behind the team and management .
Everyone knew it was coming that we needed to rebuild this is the real start .
Not to be dismissive but the team over last 15 years has nt exactly set the world alight bar maybe 2years maybe this crop with little expectation will flourish and give us a more consistent competive edge .
We stared relegation in the face barely 3 years ago it is time for change .
Following wexford hurlers for nearly 50 years I d say we were very rarely at top table in that time does nt mean I did nt enjoy it most years.
As long as the players with the privilege of wearing that jersey give 100% and never throw the towel in I ll be happy if we are good enough then we may just be successful.
Keep trying to improve in every way from underage club to senior county and everyone that can help out with whatever they have to offer .
Best of luck today and for the year ahead as well and to the footballers. Lets hope we see progress on both fronts"
I first thought "that lad must be getting on bit if he's been following Wexford for nearly 50 years" until I realised my father first brought me to see Wexford when I was six years old and I'm now a couple of years past 50 years old :D

Absolutely horrible conditions in the Park this evening and all that matters is we got the win in the end.

Replying To Doylerwex:  "Expectations were low coming into this season. They're even lower now."
Why? That was near enough Antrims Championship team according to the Antrim lad I watched the game with. His son started and played the whole game. Anyone making any judgement on our team or players in that weather needs to take a good long look at themselves. At the same time we were waxxed to win that. Maybe its going to be our year!
