From a Dublin point of view I think Crokes are probably on the decline now so although they may win Dublin I just can't see them winning Leinster. It was interesting to see Theo Clancy as Croke's sole representation on the Dublin panel for most of the championship. I had heard a few more opted out but surely given their recent success they should have a handful of lads involved at county level.. The county championships are a tough one for the national media. In soccer there are about 4 leagues in Europe that get big international attention. With only 8/9 senior clubs and a bunch of well organised divisional teams, it probably is the best standard along side Dublins "super club" model. Club games get great coverage now on other platforms. You have clubber tv, in Mayo we have Mayo GAA tv showing dozens of live games. The national broadcaster has little interest in the club game and devote more time as I see it to rugby. Thank god for tg4. The condensed nature of the inter county season along with removing the minor games on finals day has really diminished the all Ireland finals. RTE started their coverage last Sunday at 2:15pm.
