What an unbelievable second half display and an incredible year so far. Heroes all over the pitch. Ronan Ryan so sticky and tigerish probably his best Meath performance. Rafferty an incredible find this year. Huge hit on Maher was like a goal with the crowd roar. Making that his trademark. Conor Gray unbelievable impact given his last 2 years of injury issues. Matt Costello with some lovely moments of quality and Jordy Morris unmarkable and played incredible stuff. Could mention so more. What a job Robbie, Gillespie and Supple have done since McMahon and Corey have left. Given this team incredible belief. Anything is possible and we have our tough, dogged brilliant Meath team back LeitrimRoyal99 (Meath) - Posts: 1570 - 30/06/2025 12:29:35 2622593 Link 1 |
Great for Donal Keoghan to get Semi Final. To think he soldiered all since 2011/12 and never made to a Semi never even had realistic sniff of one either fair to him. Also Mento to delighted for them. But big shout to the Ronan Jones another solider been though a lot with injuries missed out also James Conlon, Jack flynn and Jack Kinlough its been a real squad effort this year. bobkarlgees (Meath) - Posts: 1280 - 30/06/2025 12:50:28 2622602 Link 1 |
My God... Waking up today (fair shook), I haven't been this proud of being a Meathman since the early 2000s. I know we made the AI semi finals in 2007 and 2009, but this feels different. There were question marks over our run to the final in 1, if not 2, of those occasions where we got handy draws in the back door system. But this year is different where we took out 3 Div 1 teams (2 AI winners and a double AI finalist from the last 3 years). Selwyn (Meath) - Posts: 419 - 30/06/2025 13:03:31 2622620 Link 0 |
What a day.Still up in the clouds. What a super bunch of lads. The old character and belief is back in the Jersey.Everyone of them put in a huge shift and that's all we ask of them. The picture of Keoghan jumping into Robbie Brennans arms at end says it all.Its seems like the lads would go through a brick wall for him just like under Sean boylan all those years ago.The grit and confidence to comeback after the Galway 2-3 sucker punch was something to behold. While Galway had a few bad wides we left alot behind us and probably could've had another goal and the Galway keeper made a good save from Morris as well.Billy had an off day with the shots and maybe Frayne shouldve taken one after a couple of his misses but the next day he could well nail them. The support was brilliant yesterday so good to see and hopefully the whole county will roll in behind them the next day.Hard luck to galway and their supporters had great banter before the game and they were very gracious in defeat after it.They are still a top team in my mind and suspect they will back hard next year.Real underdogs again the next day and that will suit us.Cant wait for it.Up the Royal.Ps wherever you are Royaldunne I hope you're enjoying it and the snack box lol. All players you mention here and rightly so. One player that is absolutely huge for Meath and not overly mentioned especially nationally is Sean Coffey. Extremely invaluable with relentless energy and he recovers so much ball on the ground in that central area. Delivers key scores too. He's almost like a Kante type figure for Meath and like having more than one player on the pitch.

Hurling championship 1st round is the weekend of the 12th and 13th so no chance I'd say. The semi finals would have to be played Tuesday after the last round of league fixtures and the finals over that weekend and will dual clubs involved it would be a total non runner. For example even looking at Division 1 3 of the 4 semi finalists are Ashbourne Ratoath and Dunboyne all of who are dual clubs . Congratulations to ye yesterday lads, the young team was full of ideas and running while we ran out of steam and road in the end but went down fighting. Ye missed some chances in the first half that ye will need to take against Donegal. JahTribe (Galway) - Posts: 167 - 30/06/2025 16:20:52 2622685 Link 3 |
