No the days of buying tickets at the gate are gone, can get them in SuperValu or Centra. If you're not keen on online then the other option is to get a friend/family member to grab them on Ticketmaster and send you a screenshot of the ticket or print it out. Screenshots/print outs work in county venues, the only one that requires the online digital ticket is Croke Park (that I'm aware of)

Chris Og Jones & Brian O'Driscoll are the two danger men so need to be locking them down and not make the tactical mistake of the Louth game by giving the likes of Mulroy acres of space on the ball. Can see Cork pressing high up on our kickouts like they did against Kerry to rattle Hogan so hope we've a few plans up our sleeve to counteract that, the obvious is to do the same as the Dublin game and have Menton, Flynn, Costello, Duke and maybe start O'Neill/McBride and have them setup to give Billy plenty of options, then have Caufield, Keoghan, Rafferty dropping around the arc to give the short option. Kickouts is where we lost the game v Louth so get that right and we've the beating of Cork. LowerHogan (Meath) - Posts: 75 - 23/05/2025 10:49:26 2611848 Link 0 |
Interesting team. Probably our strongest all year. UsernameInvalid (Meath) - Posts: 418 - 23/05/2025 13:03:35 2611870 Link 0 |
Ian Maguire terrifies me, if he's dominating which I think he will I'd love to see Conor Gray come on and deal with that. He's the most defensive minded midfielder we have. Surprised to see O'Halloran dropped instead of Lavin. Lavin was OK against Dublin, very poor against Louth and hasn't played well since the league. If the remedial work required (that was so easily identifiable in the last match,) is attended to in training, then we don't have to be terrified of anyone I would say the lads are going in with belief now ,and concentration that for improvement that it is game by game from here .I think they will be well primed not to allow distractions to get in the way. I imagine the mindset will be we take charge from the start because we are good enough for this job to day, rather than focus too much on the opposition ,We dealt with that in training and we a fully prepared for them. I imagine the team talk will be short from Robbie " you know the lessons learned from the last day lads.....you know the plan ..... go out and enjoy yourselves in carrying it out....The best of luck " and so say all of us i suggest.

Play with same determination and quality versus Dublin and Middle of first half against Louth, we will take Cork without fuss. However if we stand back looking at them like against Louth in final quarter of Leinster final and against Louth and Monaghan in league, we will be there waiting for a beating. Lots of people tipping Cork and bookies favour Cork which is a good place for Meath to be entering match. Selection looks about right but hope Morris is indeed fully fit and Ryan adds experience and tightness to backline but Meath need to go out and be hungry for the ball and the win and let's hope that'll be enough. winatallcost (Meath) - Posts: 657 - 23/05/2025 17:48:25 2611956 Link 0 |
a win puts us in a seriously positve place, a defeat will do the opposite. win tomorrow and i firmly believe we will beat roscommon in hyde which would be up there with a win for the ages in championship football. and we will be in a great place to test ourselves against kerry. the greater meath public looks not to be buying into the theory this is a huge game and seem to have switched off since 2 weeks ago, but i think its massive. dickie10 (UK) - Posts: 834 - 23/05/2025 22:18:20 2611981 Link 0 |
Agreed this is a huge game. So much at stake with three very level teams in the group and our first game being at home. Hard to find too much fault with the team. Ryan brings that bit of experience and toughness we need at the back. Hope the weather isn't as bad as forecasted and we get a big crowd behind us. Up Meath. men_of_49 (Meath) - Posts: 2013 - 24/05/2025 10:08:09 2612004 Link 0 |
Best of luck to the lads and management today. Proudroyal (Meath) - Posts: 363 - 24/05/2025 13:50:20 2612028 Link 0 |
Costello making all the right moves to be meaths first all star in near 20 years. Congrats to the lads, even when playing cat they still found a way. Onwards! bert09 (Meath) - Posts: 1825 - 24/05/2025 17:20:14 2612075 Link 1 |
Costello outstanding. Morris able to go up the gears too and both men really caused Cork all sorts of problems. The backline were all really solid as a unit as well while Conlon kicked 2 crucial scores in 2nd half. In reality if Meath kicked better in 1st half, the winning margin would have been much greater. Cork were quite poor overall I thought. Tight turnaround for Roscommon but give Meath a great chance of getting something there and it looks like the summer will go on for a bit longer at least. winatallcost (Meath) - Posts: 657 - 24/05/2025 18:40:08 2612124 Link 1 |
Possession is nine tenths of the law. We didn't get our hands on the ball enough from restarts in Louth game but we turned it around today. Despite losing a chunk of our kickouts, I thought we were very good at winning primary possession. Great team performance to get the win in poor conditions. Roscommon have been the most overrated team for quite some time, bookies will have them raging hot favourites. Massive pressure on them to get a result at home. Suits Meath perfectly. summerof09 (Meath) - Posts: 329 - 24/05/2025 18:51:33 2612130 Link 0 |
That was some 2nd half performance, Coffey, caulfield and Rafferty unreal. I was critical of some of robbie brennans decisions in the leinster final but thought he got so much right today. Flynn and Frayne both had off days so he subbed them off, im sure theyll both bounce back with good performances against Roscommon. Adam O'Neill and Cathal Hickey both had a good impact off the bench, no goals conceded and we won the breaking ball battle, two areas that killed us against Louth. Big tick for Robbie brennan today. Agree, though i think he could have made changes in first half. Also, cork were wide open down the centre for goals and we should have taken advantage of this.

Frayne didn't seem himself and missing first 2 pointer free seemed to suck energy from him. Flynn took heavy knocks either side of half time and missed a easy chance dropping it short. Menton struggled in first half too but 2nd half battle seemed to suit him. Many others upped their game and substitutes were made at right times. Thought Ronan Ryan was excellent on his first start this year. Will definitely need panel next week with quick turnaround with recovery important.

Would definitely be worried about Flynn, looked like his shoulder. Interesting take on Ronan Ryan, he was 10 yards of his man everytime in the first half. Rafferty some bit of stuff.

Can't help but think Jamie Murphy instead of Frayne up front. Give the armband to Caufield. I'm pretty sure Duke has missed his last 7 shots at goal. Confidence has definitely dipped. I'd be looking at starting Curtis over him the next day. I felt like we played better when O''Neill came on for Flynn. He's not the muscles or the Braun of Flynn but he's got better work ethic. Jeez we could do badly do with a Ronan Jones about now. Conor Gray played for Dunshaughlin tonight V the tones. He put himself around and could be an option albeit more for Menton than Flynn. Ronan Ryan excellent?? Shuffling around behind his man and not exactly going out of his way to make himself available for a pass, particularly in the first half,, Good win, important win otherlad (Meath) - Posts: 145 - 24/05/2025 23:46:05 2612258 Link 0 |
I was still surprised Frayne was substituted, Curtis replaced him and made no impact, Frayne missed a few shots that he'd kick 9 times out of 10, if they went over we'd be talking about how great he was, not worried about the him at all he's still absolute quality. Hope the Jack Flynn knocks you spotted there isn't anything serious and he's available next week.
