Replying To ORIELMAN85: "Fermanagh v Sligo. Hard to call this one, maybe home advantage swings it to FERMANAGH.
Wicklow. v Westmeath. Have to fancy WESTMEATH here.
Kildare v Offaly. KILDARE should win this, with a bit to spare.
Limerick v Wexford. WEXFORD by a few points." Good to see we are in agreement then

The bookmakers have crunched their numbers I see and one has provided handicap already. Tbh I don't disagree with their predictions
Fermanagh v Sligo….a tight affair that could well need extra time to sort it out. Sligo are marginal favourites and naturally I'll agree with that. Home advantage didn't count for a lot for Fermanagh against Carlow so it's a fairly level end encounter
Wicklow v Westmeath….Westmeath will win this one by 4/5 points at least. Wicklow can thank the order of games that gave them Waterford last to rack up a big score and bizarrely top the group. I thought scores against the team not involved in a 3 team tie were not to be included?! Or is that just a club thing. Beating Laois at home yes was a good result but look at where Laois wound up at the weekend.
Kildare v Offaly…the pick of the round and somehow is not on GAA+! Kildare won't be beaten a third time especially at home. Offaly I think have regressed a bit from the league and even against NY showed they can be exposed at the back. Kildare gave us a hard time in this regard and can do so again here.
Limerick v Wexford….Home advantage a help to Limerick and they are given a 2 point advantage in one establishment. I think it's about right. The win against WH shows they are capable of taking bigger scalps.
So that'd leave us with Sligo, Kildare, Westmeath and Limerick and if it proves true that the semi final has restrictions it'd mean Kildare can't play Sligo or WH again so Kildare v Limerick, Sligo v Westmeath. If true….come on Wicklow should we manage to get over Fermanagh!

It's a bit ironic in that Waterford were to be our first game in Div 4 this year - and at home . This game was called off due to weather, which meant we went into the London game the following week with no experience of actually playing a competitive game under the new rules. London, who had played a game the previous week - think it was against Wexford - beat us by 1 point. Would a game under our belts have proved the difference ? I think it would and had we picked up 2 pts against London, we would be in Div 3 next season. Small margins. I think that Westmeath will be too sharp for us given last weeks display by them against Laois. We have two ways of playing and a lot depends on which team turns up on the day. For me, it will be Westmeath by 5/6. Hope I'm wrong.

I am going to say Wicklow by 2.
Yes Westmeath beat Laois, but so did we.
Limerick beat Westmeath.
No pressure on us.

The last-four draw for the Tailteann Cup will be subject to the avoidance of repeat pairings from the championship.
Pairings that won't happen in the Tailteann: Kildare v Sligo, Limerick v Westmeath, Wicklow v Offaly, Fermanagh v Wexford.
Fixture details will be finalised by the CCCC later on Monday and the games will take place over the weekend of 21/22 June.
That clears that up:-)

Doesn't say it there so would like to think for transparency that it's correct.
In Sam maguire only provincial finals are not allowed drawn, so I'd anticipate in TC only repeat games within TC groups aren't permitted.
With small pool of teams and same few progressing if rule out early provincial games plus TC group rematches won't leave much potential room for a draw at all.
Least next year format clearer

Down to the last 4 now. Kildare still strong favourites, maybe not by the way they playing but more so now that Westmeath & Offaly are gone. Fermanagh would have been fancied to make it to the last 4 too when the competition started and are second favourities, with Limerick & Wicklow being the surprises to make this far. Wicklow topped a very competitive group and their comeback versus Westmeath was very impressive
Limerick & Wicklow will be hoping to draw each other no doubt.

A decent weekend of Tailteann Cup action, 4 home wins, some great games and lot of scores, sadly will get lost again with last round of All Ireland getting the majority of coverage.
Super win for Wicklow,, especially considering Westmeaths demolition of Laois last weekend.
Semi finals next weekend in Croker, least will get some exposure on the Sunday on Rte, all the Ireland Ireland Preliminary Quarters should be all on the Saturday, with 2 on GAA+(Think last year only one was player the sunday, Louth v Cork) with the hurling quarter finals both on Saturday also.
Im sure all participating counties would be unhappy with the coverage it gets, last night Kildare v Offaly got some decent highlights, hate the playing of music on Saturday/Sunday game as quickly skip through most game highlights in 60 seconds.
On the competition itself, Kildare would be strong favourites now and will certainly fancy themselves after Westmeath got knocked out, up to Wicklow, Limerick and Fermanagh to try cause a shock against them, least semi finals will be completely open draw now

But Kildare being Kildare....???
What a win for Wicklow today. Great achievement.

Replying To sponger: "Don't drink too much FT." No problem there Sponger. My drinking days are long gone anyway. That was a great display today. I don't think that any of the other 3 will be counting their chickens if they draw us If we can't win it, I'd like to see Limerick do it. As a Sligo supporter said, Wicklow and Limerick have gone about their tasks with a minimum of fuss or publicity, no big heads, egos or sense of entitlement. Same could be said of Fermanagh. To me, Kildare have been coming across as if the cup was theirs already. And, maybe it will and the very best of luck to them if they can do it. One game at a time.

Kildare are like that every year, and every year somehow manage to leave the cup behind them. Admittedly, the players seem more levelheaded under that new, young manager. And Kildare management has stopped blaming referees and all and sundry under the sun for their defeats except themselves. Hope Limerick win it. If not, Wicklow.
